Sons & Daughters
Criss, son of the Water and Fire Elementals, is an angry and conflicted young dragon with a buried heart of gold. While many dragons are most at home in the sea or the sky, Criss prefers to keep his feet firmly planted on the ground, thank you so very much. But if he could only embrace his Water heritage, he would find that he can breathe underwater just as well as he can breathe air!
Karalis watched his rider aimlessly, considering his interest in the male never stopped. Arcadius had learned a slight bit of draconic and english by now. Though he still preferred to speak in greek of all things. There hadn't been any incidents with him shifting to his small cat form either. For Karalis to watch his rider adapt and grow - it was a feeling he didn't know how to describe. Was it something his mother felt when she was observing things and gathering informaiton? Regardless the lesser elemental had hawk eyes on the elf hybrid. He was drawing in that book of his. Arcadius often sketched but Karalis had never taken the time to look at any of the drawings.
The feathery dragon decided to slink closer. His massive head sitting behind Arcadius' shoulder as his blue eyes moved over the strokes on the page. It looked like Arc had sketches Karalis himself. The dragon flicked his tail, folding up his fin as he grinned a bit and relaxed onto his stomach in the sand. Another day of observing - it was never boring with his new rider around he supposed.
Rashan sighed as he flew through the skies back from the mainland. With the disappearance of Thillia and the confusion of Dragonsdeep he had been having a rough time lately. He was tired from the long journey there. He was saddened at not finding his closest friend. But most of all, he was frustrated with himself for not realizing just how much he had come to depend on her guidance for the most simple of things.
So he decided that it was time to return home. The one place that his strange powers seemed to be the most settled and the least hindering to him. He could fly lower here than many other places as there were no mountains and trees to run into. He had run into a few sand dunes before, but they were much softer and forgiving than wood and stone.
Though as he flew over the desert he took notice of a pair of shapes far below. Most of the time he would have waived off the idea that it was anything more than a vision but the sight of a possible Rider and Dragon intrigued him. He did not have much experience with them and this did not seem like anyone he recognized. He started to descend downward through the air slowly, keeping an eye on the pair. The fact that they seemed to be not moving or doing much together did make him a little weary that this was all a trick of his mind.
He aimed himself down toward a sand dune a respectable distance away from them. Having realized long ago that dropping right down on top of hopefully new friends did not make an especially good first impression. Though the idea of meeting someone new did certainly raise his spirits. Though as was all too often the Creation's landing was far from graceful.
He was distracted slightly as some of his feathers seemed to fall from his wings with odd chirping sounds. Not only that but he thought the dune was right under his claws when he still had another foot to go. He gave out a small cry of surprise as he went skidding into the dune and slid a small distance along it. 'Well' he thought 'If they have a sense of humor my entrances usually ease any tension, right?' He considered, still trying to see the bright side as he typically did.
Rashan "Are you real? And are you fun?" Shydra "Vaseera shall have mercy on us all, even my worst enemies." Viamor "This world will freeze."
Samantha: And Paradox was amazing Dae! I enjoyed writing Adutaine opposite them. =)

Samantha: I get that Blazeh, no worries. <3 The site is pretty dead, it was just me and 27th and we couldn't keep it going on our own.

DaeSiggil: Oops, I know I haven't often helped by disappearing as I did. But still thinking about this place! <3

Verridith: Hey hon, love you guys but haven't seen anything happen since 2017 ;A; hope all are well! But have to remove you from BTACD's sister sites. I'm sorry! </3 </3 </3

Samantha: Exactly! It can be tricky, back home most of my friends are just from school, university or work. xD And it was lovely. They were all so lovely, the ones I was with spent the whole time talking about history, it was fun and edumacational.

27th: Wow! You got to have dinner with the authors? Making new friends is always nice. I know that struggle as I don't socialize like my peers.
Sept 12, 2017 18:00:11 GMT
Samantha: that great at doing haha (I don't like going out to parties and stuff, which seems to be the main way people my age socialise.)
Sept 11, 2017 23:11:00 GMT
Samantha: -looks at timestamp on last reply- Eeeek, apologies for the delay! But yeah it was AMAZING. My favourite author signed my favourite book, and we even had dinner with the authors one of the nights. Plus, I made some new friends, which I don't tend to be
Sept 11, 2017 23:10:37 GMT
27th: That sounds very cool! I would have loved going to something like that.
Aug 20, 2017 21:03:22 GMT
Samantha: It just means 'science fiction and fantasy.' So it was a conference for authors of these things, and scholars who study them!
Aug 19, 2017 21:10:27 GMT
27th: Glad you had a good time in Sweden! What is SFF?
Aug 11, 2017 16:08:48 GMT
Samantha: Sorry for the disappearance. I was in Sweden for an SFF conference- it was pretty cool!
Aug 11, 2017 10:48:27 GMT
Samantha: It's sad, yeah. We need more members to have more staff, we need more staff to keep the place active, and we need to have the place active to get more members. Sort of a vicious cycle. =P

Samantha: The problem is that the main person who likes to run contests, Riv, also has a tendency to disappear. xD And I don't have the time and the energy to run this place proper on my own.
Jul 31, 2017 16:45:38 GMT
27th: Yes, it is a lot of work. Though, I agree it could be worth the effort. As far as contests go, we've tried them here at DotE before. I don't know how well any of them worked but we it couldn't hurt to try.
Jul 30, 2017 5:53:42 GMT
R: Could try a contest?
Jul 29, 2017 4:40:04 GMT
shadow: Well. Yea. That also is a lot of work. It would be worth it though
Jul 28, 2017 4:12:51 GMT
27th: Well, recruitment would be key to that. Contacting the members we already have to try and get them to participate here would also be part of that.
Jul 26, 2017 15:52:29 GMT
shadow: I wonder what would happen if we tried to make it alive again
