The Rules
Okay, I know they're annoying. But we need them, if we don't want everything to dissolve into a great glistening ball of chaos! Although they are not all directly specified here, standard proboards rules also apply.
1: Power playing and God modding, This is a big no no. We all know our characters are powerful dragons, but let's be serious: a Creation is not going to take everything over. Likewise; even an Elemental is not going to be infallible! It's not going to be much fun for the other players if yours is. Be respectful of other people's characters, don't make yours invincible, and don't try to control others. This is a golden rule of role play, so please be courteous of your fellow role players.
2: Ooc: Except for brief, relevant notes attached to your roleplay posts to explain or highlight particular aspects of the piece, please keep "ooc" conversation to the appropriate sections of the forum. If you want to discuss movies, cat pictures or other things, there are boards for that, as well as personal messaging for one-on-one conversation!
3: IC post length: Please write a good (I.E. not two lines) paragraph per post at the very minimum- but go for quality over quantity. Of course, there is that dreaded demon known as Writer's Block! If by chance it decides to prey upon your creative juices, don't worry. We'll understand.
4: Get along, Please keep ic problems ic. No one needs to be hated because their character likes to mess stuff up. If you really have a problem ooc don't call the person out in the chat box either, if it comes down to it contact the staff and work it out with them. Get along with each other, and if you really, really, need to fight, take it to instant messaging or off site please. Proboards may yell at you for yelling at each other, and we don't want that, do we?
5: Please keep it PG-13, in keeping with Proboards rules. Your characters may curse, but please don't have them continually drop uncensored f-bombs. Violence is fine, but if you make anyone ill with your intense love of gory detail, then we may have some issues! As for relationships, just remember the fade-to-black rule and we shall hopefully be fine. As a natural extension of all of this, you must be thirteen or over to join this site, also in keeping with Proboards rules. If you do not meet the age requirement, your account will be deleted from this forum.
6: Liquid time, There is this cool thing called liquid time. It does not mean your character can be in more than one place at once. It means you can have more than one thread at a time, in different places and points in time, using the same character. But keep it reasonable. Make sure if your character breaks something that it shows up in a thread further down the line.
So, that's about it. Not too many rules for you to remember, I hope! Anyway: happy role playing, and I hope you can make yourself at home in our little community. =)
If you have any issues with other members or with site content, feel free to contact a member of staff and let them know of your concerns. They'll be more than happy to help you work things out!
