Okay, so I think it's about time we've finally addressed this important question that's been burning in the back of all of our minds: how does your rider stay so well-kept?
If I'm not mistaken, we don't have a single male Rider out there with fuzzies on their face.
Sam and I have decided that elves have little to no pubic hairs, so that helps stunt it on Aiden's part, but still...
Finding some still pool of whatever could definitely serve as a makeshift mirror, but what of how they shave it in the first place?
Do they have some compartment in their home (if your Elemental and Rider even consistently stay in one place, which on my part, I think Icarus and Karma are constantly moving, though it seems like Aiden gets left behind often haha) where they keep their beauty products, and they return to their respective humanoid realm any time they need to restock?
Or is your character just so tough that they'll use their sword to shave without even getting any shaving cream/conditioner to ease this process?
That seems like a messy affair, and any time your character walks away from that with cuts all over their face, all the other male Riders will give a solemn nod and quietly sympathize, "The price of beauty..."
The ladies, of course, would just laugh (or maybe that's just Karma).
Speaking of, how are the girls keeping up with their own pubes?
Are our ladies just so badass that they run around, armpit/leg hair and all?
I don't think I would totally mind that in honesty...
Not to mention, ah... that time of the month that seems to perpetuate the female species.
(this is probably taboo to talk about in literature but i mean come onthis is why i only role play males)
Karma's are irregular and infrequent, but that's because she has certain health issues I'm planning to implement from now on... SO YOU GUYS DON'T HAVE THAT EXCUSE.
(and even then it isn't so much an excuse when it's unpredictable like that)
Then there's also the matter of keeping their breath from smelling like something has died in there.
Because humans can't eat raw meat, all meat would be cooked, which DOES inevitably lead to plaque building up.
With that in mind, it actually WOULD be problematic for the health of their mouth if they don't brush their teeth regularly.
Otherwise all of our riders are just going to have their teeth rotting and hurting like hell, potentially falling out, putrid breath... this seems important to address above all things.
I don't think there IS really any way to ignore this fact.
(Well, I mean, we have been up until now... but why not try to spice up DotE with some logic?)
Finally, what about their wardrobe?
The most troublesome thing is WHERE do they keep their clothes?
It would be a tricky thing to be the anime protagonist that only changes clothes every season.
I mean, it's possible to just find some nice stream to wash your clothes in every few days, but you have to imagine that your rider will be standing stark naked in a world of dragons, completely exposed as they wait for their clothes to dry.
This is the part that's troubling the most if I were to be honest.
Honestly, I'm considering for my riders to each be carrying some sort of sack around with them.
It just kind of seems... essential.
So there.
Welcome to the thread you wish never existed!
Feel free to defend your rider from my perpetual labeling of unhygienic and gross if you don't.
