Bid my blood to run, before I come undone...
...save me from the nothing I've become
Song: bring me to life by Evanescence
Kiira stood at the edge of the Ice Territory, the immense river that split Ice and Life Territory behind her. Her dark maroon eyes stared out across the Ice Territory, never once blinking. She didn't even budge. If another dragon couldn't pick up her scent, or hear her heart beating fast, they would probably assume she was merely a beautiful, lone statue. Even when the air was frigged, she did not shiver. She just stared...
After escaping many, many years, Kiira had lived in the rugged Fang Mountains of the Life Territory. She knew dragons rarely went there since living there was difficult. In fact, Kiira had barely survived living there herself. Food was hard to come by, and the air was thin. Eventually, though, Kiira learned the land. She knew where the mountain goats migrated to, and she knew most of the caverns in the mountains. Some even had ancient drawings from dragons older than her. Yet... she had never once crossed the river into Ice Territory. Often she would sit on the ledge of the cave she called home and stare out into the ice. It terrified her. But she needed to overcome that fear.
And so there she stood. This was the first time she had touched foot on Ice territory since she was captured. Every winter, when the snow fell and the temperatures dropped, she would often wake up in a panic in her cave. She would have to sit on the ledge till dawn to reassure herself that she was no longer trapped in that icy prison.
Ever since she had come across D and Darkflame in Dragonsdeep, she had decided to come back and try to face her fears. There were things she didn't know - things she didn't understand. Her first steps to understanding what she went through and understanding the world was to face her fears.
Kiira let out a deep breath, watching has her breath formed a cloud. Baby steps... She had waited a long time. There was no rush.
