Name: Radiance of the Prism ("Prism")
(image used with permission)
Nickname: Priss, a false name often given to dragons she meets while travelling in disguise.
Gender: Female
Eye Colour: Blue.
Appearance: Much of Prism's appearance can be interpreted from the above image. What follows is what may not be as immediately identifiable.
Her body is thin and long limbed, with legs that are jointed in much the same way as her father's. That is; all four have "elbows" and "wrists", although the "wrists" are much less prominent than those of Tivialous. In addition to this, her paws lack much of his dexterity. Prism has a lot more trouble picking up objects than he does.
Prism's scales are tiny and shimmering, like those of a fish, and give her a somewhat ethereal appearance in certain lights. There is a little skin visible around her eyes, and near her claws. It is pale and smooth.
As for her size; Prism is a little smaller than her brother. However, she is still larger than her mother, Ysera.
Personality: Prism is an exceedingly ill-tempered dragon. She lacks the calm and disciplined natures of her parents, which is an evident flaw in her character. However, Prism's attitude is tempered by her modesty. Although she is easily annoyed, she is not a proud creature, and does not hold grudges nor take insults to heart (though she may express annoyance at the immaturity of said insults).
Prism's mild-mannered father can not escape her tantrums, even though the pair get along well when the dragoness is in a more serene state of mind. However, her brother Kession is usually safe, unless Prism is in a truly foul mood. Bound as they are by blood and secrecy, Kess is her closest friend and companion. He is, to use a human phrase, her "rock".
That said, they don't really have much in common, aside from their sense of humour. Prism's sense, while less self-centered than her brother's, is nonetheless teasing.
Her love for her brother aside, Prism is easily tempted and has a lower moral core than many dragons. In spite of her mother's teachings, she does not have a particularly deep understanding of the value of life. She could very easily be persuaded to inflict injury or death, if there was some reward in it for her. In part due to this, and partly because of her belief in the superiority of dragonkind; Prism sees little point in Riders. Occasionally, when she is really hungry, she toys with the idea of mortal Riders. However, she knows her parents would be none too pleased if she did.
Aside from Kession, Prism has a younger sibling named Kysannis. Prism is considerably more distant from Kysan than she is from Kess, perhaps because Kysan is allowed to roam free whereas Kess and Prism have to travel in secret between their parents. This little fact does annoy Prism, as does her sister's ability to earn their parents' favour with more ease than she can. As a result, Kysan can fall victim to Prism's outbursts with far greater ease than Kess. Still, Prism does like her sister, even if this isn't always apparent.
Because of her close knit family group and the restrictions placed upon her by her parents, Prism is socially somewhat awkward, in spite of the great love of learning that she harbours. Around strangers, and even in unexpected or strange situations, Prism becomes quiet and reserved. It doesn't take much to ignite her flame once more, but this quiet side of Prism is something that is rarely seen, and might give newcomers the wrong opinion about her.
Prism loves knowledge and the truth (although she is not one for riddles and the like). As a result, creative thinking does not come easily to her. It is interesting, then, that the dark makes her anxious. Logically, it shouldn't. But Prism can't deny the fact that, in the darkness, she feels like a million eyes are watching her and following her every move.
This dragoness believes that she understands the meaning of life, although she views it in a different way to her mother. She views the lives of others from a biological perspective. To some degree, she believes in "survival of the fittest". However, it could be argued that her viewpoint is purely selfish- Prism does not hold the same view of herself, and holds the "Me" above all else.
Prism's favourite colour is yellow and, while she is predominately a carnivore, she loves mushrooms.
Rider: None
Mother: Ysera [Earth]
Father: Tivialous [Light]
Half brother (older): Talbot Arkem
Half sister (older): Kohaku
Half sister (older): Ruan
Twin brother: Kession of the Mirage
Younger sister: Kysannis
History: Prism and her brother Kess were hatched about fifty years ago. At Ysera's recommendation, and with Tivialous' consent, they now travel in secret between their two parents. Kess uses his powers of illusion to disguise the two as ordinary animals or Creations, and off they go.
Weapons: The dragoness' body offers her a few natural weapons, although her tail is too soft and her claws too small to be used as such. She has a short but sharp horn beneath her jaw, which could be used in self defense should an enemy lunge for her throat. Prism also has two longer, golden horns atop her head. These can be used in a show of aggression, or as actual weapons should the need arise.
In addition to the above, Prism can breathe fire. Her breath is of the standard orange variety, but it has the desired effect: reducing enemies to charred and nervous wrecks.
The "crown" atop Prism's head, like her horns, can be used to intimidate enemies. Unlike her horns, it is of no use as an actual weapon.
Abilities: Prism can create fabulous light shows and plays of colour, but can't quite match the power of her brother's illusions. This is something she resents him for. Because of her abilities, she is more attracted to the Light element than that of Earth- she adores the array of hues it can provide.
She likes to think of herself as the "Radiance Elemental", on account of her powers.
