Sons & Daughters
Criss, son of the Water and Fire Elementals, is an angry and conflicted young dragon with a buried heart of gold. While many dragons are most at home in the sea or the sky, Criss prefers to keep his feet firmly planted on the ground, thank you so very much. But if he could only embrace his Water heritage, he would find that he can breathe underwater just as well as he can breathe air!
OK, I've given this some thought. Fazoola is about the size of my two story house and could fit into my sizable backyard. However, I understand that this is not helpful to any of you. So, after a half hour of deliberation with my father helping me with measurements, I decided that Fazoola is twelve feet tall at the shoulder with a total of twenty feet in height. Her neck is eight feet long and her tail is twenty-five feet long. This gives her a total of 116 feet in length. So, yes, she is huge (according to the chart). So she is right in the middle of the size range for the Elementals.
Here is a quick excel spreadsheet I did using the basic grid to make generic dragon silhouettes the sizes of the dragons as specified here. As well as on Sheet 2 can be found a whole chart of physical characteristics to give an estimate of length, height, body width, wingspan, and weight in both English and Metric units. Of course all still subject to debate and approval by everyone.
Rashan "Are you real? And are you fun?" Shydra "Vaseera shall have mercy on us all, even my worst enemies." Viamor "This world will freeze."
*SWEATS* Okay, I'm REALLY sorry for not responding before you made the spreadsheet but... Icarus's information is really outdated. Completely ignore the first post I have for my characters, because I was a lot younger and knew a lot less things. Even though they're only sketchy outlines with things that are still subject to change, they're still a hell of a lot more accurate than my old information. So in short, Icarus is now going to be a lot bigger. I marked him down for approximately seven meters in shoulder height (? pretty sure), then whatever the hell for length that would be proportionate in the picture. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience, but I super appreciate you doing this for us, Rodrik! <3
All right, well I updated my quick list here, but it'll have to wait until tomorrow for me to update the rest of things. I noticed that Fazoola seems really long vs height in comparison to most based on the numbers I was given except for Izett of course who is supposed to be snake-like. If that is what you are going for 27th, that's fine just something I noticed.
Icarus will be about the fourth biggest now, that's quite the difference from being the second smallest. That's quite the difference, but if that's what you want then I can gladly change it. Edit: Or we royally confused Pine and then everyone else using multiple systems of measurement and it isn't really that big a change. That's what I get for trying to include both systems in my charts I suppose.
And Orolzxx I really have no idea what size he should be. In all honesty based off the picture comparing him to a submarine he should probably still be many times bigger. I really didn't know just how big to go with him, but that at least got the idea across.
And for any future changes do not worry too much. Nearly all of the numbers are formula based, so changing a couple numbers is not too difficult. The drawings are simple and are fairly easy to do, though I will admit setting the scale to 1/2 meter instead of 1 messed me up a few times, but using the scale 1 meter scale would make the smallest Elementals tiny.
Okay, I got really confused about him being called "huge" just now, so, um...
I just made a huge mistake, because when I was trying to decide his size I was looking at some stupid charts that apparently weren't accurate at all, and I do sincerely apologize. NOW THAT I'VE DISCOVERED THE MAGIC OF FEET TO METER CONVERSION (AND PICTURING HIM AGAINST A WALL THEN STANDING NEXT TO IT FOR HEIGHT REFERENCE) Seven FEET/ ~two meters (more like 2.3 though ehehe) is actually more accurate. i'm like triply sorry
Yeah, I'm also bad with numbers so I didn't mean for Fazoola to be snake-like in length. So, I'd like her proportions to be more like those of Adutaine: 4x30 meters. Though, I'm glad we're working this out! Its helpful to know the sizes of the Elementals, especially in comparison to each other.
I know you asked a while ago Sam, but I believe that the chart is ready. Just in case I will upload my most recent version just to make sure the most up to date one gets posted.
That image of Olorzxx will forever make me chuckle, he's so much bigger than everyone else. xD
I'll tag the relevant active members so they can check they're still okay with the depicted proportions of their Elementals, before tidying this up and moving the post into its own thread for convenience.
Samantha: And Paradox was amazing Dae! I enjoyed writing Adutaine opposite them. =)

Samantha: I get that Blazeh, no worries. <3 The site is pretty dead, it was just me and 27th and we couldn't keep it going on our own.

DaeSiggil: Oops, I know I haven't often helped by disappearing as I did. But still thinking about this place! <3

Verridith: Hey hon, love you guys but haven't seen anything happen since 2017 ;A; hope all are well! But have to remove you from BTACD's sister sites. I'm sorry! </3 </3 </3

Samantha: Exactly! It can be tricky, back home most of my friends are just from school, university or work. xD And it was lovely. They were all so lovely, the ones I was with spent the whole time talking about history, it was fun and edumacational.

27th: Wow! You got to have dinner with the authors? Making new friends is always nice. I know that struggle as I don't socialize like my peers.
Sept 12, 2017 18:00:11 GMT
Samantha: that great at doing haha (I don't like going out to parties and stuff, which seems to be the main way people my age socialise.)
Sept 11, 2017 23:11:00 GMT
Samantha: -looks at timestamp on last reply- Eeeek, apologies for the delay! But yeah it was AMAZING. My favourite author signed my favourite book, and we even had dinner with the authors one of the nights. Plus, I made some new friends, which I don't tend to be
Sept 11, 2017 23:10:37 GMT
27th: That sounds very cool! I would have loved going to something like that.
Aug 20, 2017 21:03:22 GMT
Samantha: It just means 'science fiction and fantasy.' So it was a conference for authors of these things, and scholars who study them!
Aug 19, 2017 21:10:27 GMT
27th: Glad you had a good time in Sweden! What is SFF?
Aug 11, 2017 16:08:48 GMT
Samantha: Sorry for the disappearance. I was in Sweden for an SFF conference- it was pretty cool!
Aug 11, 2017 10:48:27 GMT
Samantha: It's sad, yeah. We need more members to have more staff, we need more staff to keep the place active, and we need to have the place active to get more members. Sort of a vicious cycle. =P
Jul 31, 2017 16:46:13 GMT
Samantha: The problem is that the main person who likes to run contests, Riv, also has a tendency to disappear. xD And I don't have the time and the energy to run this place proper on my own.
Jul 31, 2017 16:45:38 GMT
27th: Yes, it is a lot of work. Though, I agree it could be worth the effort. As far as contests go, we've tried them here at DotE before. I don't know how well any of them worked but we it couldn't hurt to try.
Jul 30, 2017 5:53:42 GMT
R: Could try a contest?
Jul 29, 2017 4:40:04 GMT
shadow: Well. Yea. That also is a lot of work. It would be worth it though
Jul 28, 2017 4:12:51 GMT
27th: Well, recruitment would be key to that. Contacting the members we already have to try and get them to participate here would also be part of that.
Jul 26, 2017 15:52:29 GMT
shadow: I wonder what would happen if we tried to make it alive again
