▪ noel may ridge ▪ ▪ 15 ▪ ▪ female ▪ ▪ HETEROSEXUAl ▪ personality If you make Noel smile, you have accomplished a miracle. She's not one for smiling, she keeps a solemn and serious expression on her face; emotionless, even, if you count Noel's permanent worried frown as a lack of emotion. After all, something akin to a scowl is her default expression. She's a very sad and jaded girl with an intense fear of Strangers. Which, pretty much everyone is a stranger. She's gotten very good at hiding, and coaxing her out of wherever she makes her hiding spots is nigh impossible. Something in this mostly-human child longs for company, however. Isolation is ill-fitting no matter the species, but isolation is the only way she knows to keep safe. To defend her heart and defend her life. In all honesty, Noel's sickness left her isolated in the first place, and very sheltered. She doesn't understand the world for the most part, and is in a nearly-constant state of fear. The problem is, her fear is overshadowed by her misery. And, of course, she's still very apt to get sick or injured; have no doubt that this girl is in a constant struggle with her body - not just the outside world - to stay alive. appearance hair that is messily hacked short, a naturally dichotomy of color; a pale black and deep brown, a gentle fade from one color to the other. she keeps it short out of necessity, not wanting to bother with the need to tend to long hair and the problems brought with it. pale skin, and almost always a serious expression on her face; she is no light and happy innocent and is in fact quite severe in nature. her typical clothes are simplistic, monochrome or two-colors. she wears skirts a lot, if only because she's used to them; they are a bit small for her at this point and no doubt she needs more clothes. she's a growing teenager-child after all. her face is still round with baby fat, no womanly arches to be found but instead gentle curves. she is not awkward or gangly; she is proportioned nicely, and something in her indicates she could be pretty if she bothered to tend to her appearance more than clean clothes and self. her eyes are vibrant green, sharp and brilliant but all too often watching her feet or the area just in front of her feet. she doesn't look up or walk with confidence, she instead keeps to herself with a terrifying caution. the green has a faint suggestion of blue in it, reminiscent if but slightly of some sort of ocean - the ever changing colors of the water. if water were as solemn as noel. history This human child was born to a now-deceased Rider and a woman from his hometown that he fell in love with. He, of course, brought his love to the lands where he rode a dragon; she happily came with him, and became the Rider of a child of that dragon. Her pregnancy was celebrated, and soon Noel May was born. The baby girl, however, instead of being bouncy was sickly. Health was not an easy thing for her, and as a child she was often ill. At only a year or two of age, however, the baby lost a father. Her mother mourned, of course, and found herself feeling somewhat trapped on the island. Still, she was the Rider of a child of the Dragon of Time, and wasn't fond of the idea of leaving the dragon. Noel's mother wasn't quite the same after losing the man she loved, of course, and though she put a lot of effort to raising Noel the child knew something was off. Additionally, her mother was always interacting with the dragon she Rode. Trying to keep up a normal self was nigh impossible. And anyway, Noel was still very sickly: something in the child's very makeup was unhealthy, and it wasn't something that could be easily fixed. Nor could a broken heart; Noel's mother had passionately, madly loved Noel's father and losing him changed her very self. This didn't help with Noel's sickly nature either - even as a child she could sense something was wrong with her mother. Time passed, and when Noel was ten years old her mother left the world as well. It wasn't a broken heart, surprisingly enough, nor was it sickness or foul play; she simply made a mistake that cost her life. It scarred the child to find her mother's body broken and bleeding, the life taken from it, and she fled. She fled to the house that she had lived in with her mother. But there the child ached, her soul felt damaged, and she packed up the things that were Hers and left the house. Five years wandering, scraping by, and struggling have passed, and Noel has lost whatever light she had in youth. Though she's stronger now, she's still prone to getting sick or injured. And she is terribly, irreversibly, frightened of anything living, moving, and talking how she can understand them. Other Noel has a few skills: being raised on the island means she can speak Draconic rather fluently, a skill picked up almost unconsciously as she would play or lie in bed, too ill too move. Additionally, she is extremely observant; few things escape her notice. She got so used to watching that watching is one of the things she does best. Finally, Noel knows how to survive. She can gather food, though heaven knows she isn't currently eating as healthy as she should; she's able to get food, but not enough to be anything besides malnourished. She also knows the island pretty well, having spent five years wandering around on it and trying to stay below pretty much everyone's radar. Noel's mother was a half-elf; an elven Rider met a human citizen in the human realm and viola... The dragon (child of the Dragon of Time) that Noel's mom was riding, additionally, is also deceased. Noel was never involved with that aspect, so, you know. Being a quarter elf also means that Noel has the potential to have powers......... played by: Kunabee ▪ face claim: lolita in the rain by missangest |
