The large black dragons soared through the skies, a dark ink blot on the crisp blue sky. His large shadow swooped over many animals roaming around in the Firelands, causing them to cower, and some to roar at him, shooting angry jets of flames. Akhil responded with his own blast of darkness, which drove them away. Smirking, he returned his attention to the ground in front of him, scouring for the one Fire dragon that he wanted to see.
Izett. He didn't know what drew him to her; she wasn't the most lovable character there was. But he knew that he cared about her, and would probably miss her when she was gone. On an impulse, he'd left his home and flew in the direction of hers, intent on visiting her. What he would say or do upon seeing her, he had no idea. He'd left Titanius and Sigmund in charge of the Dark domain, and had gone off to chase his mate.
Mate. Was she even that to him? They'd had offspring, yes, but he'd had offspring with others, as did she. The relationships between Elementals came and went, and given that they lived forever, it wasn't like anything was going to last long. His relationship with the other female Elementals certainly hadn't lasted an eternity-- else he wouldn't be here. Did he still care about them? Yes, in a way. They were his comrades, his partners, his allies, and sometimes his enemies. He cared about them in a way that he'd care about the male Elementals, and nothing more. But the feelings he had for Izett were a bit more ambiguous.
Tivialous and Ysera had a good relationship. He was still sore with the Earth dragoness, and was a good friend of Tiv, but respected their relationship, despite the rifts he had with her. Would he be able to form the same relationship with Izett? He almost cracked a smile. Not exactly possible, due to Izett's personality and his own. But their connection was something similar to the one between Tiv and Ysera. Unconsciously, a small part of him hoped for their relationship to work, and maybe, just maybe, he could have something that would last.
