As of June 2016, we will be holding monthly site-wide activity checks to encourage members to log in a regular basis. For those of you unfamiliar with these events, the basic information can be found below:
What is an activity check?
An activity check is an event held by some forums to determine which members are still active in the community, often with member accounts being deleted after they are deemed sufficiently inactive.
How are ours going to work?
At the start of each month, a thread will be posted in the 'Contests and Updates' board, titled 'activity check [month, year]'. Members of this forum will have one week from the time at which the thread appears to reply to it.
What are the consequences of failing to respond to an activity check?
When a member misses one of these checks, we will send a generic message to their forum inbox to let them know. After three consecutive activity checks are missed, a member's account will be deleted. A message will not be sent and a member will be considered to have passed the check in question if they have given us prior warning that they won't be responding. If you need to notify us that this will be the case, you can let us know in the 'Arrivals and Departures' board, or email the staff at dote.inbox@gmail.com.
A member whose account has been deleted may choose to rejoin the site at any time.
Why are we implementing activity checks?
To encourage existing members to log in monthly, and to determine which accounts should be removed so that our member count more accurately reflects the activity of the site as a whole.
If you have any questions or comments regarding the above, feel free to post below and let us know. =)
