Sons & Daughters
Criss, son of the Water and Fire Elementals, is an angry and conflicted young dragon with a buried heart of gold. While many dragons are most at home in the sea or the sky, Criss prefers to keep his feet firmly planted on the ground, thank you so very much. But if he could only embrace his Water heritage, he would find that he can breathe underwater just as well as he can breathe air!
To be honest, I really like velociraptors. I know it's crazy, but they are freaking cool. I have a thing for animals that hang out in groups (and those that mate for life). Velociraptors are thought to be highly intelligent and all that. I like all the raptors, too, like the utahraptors and stuff. Raptor dinosaurs are epic. Scary as all get out - like I'd be nervous if they were brought back to life like in the Jurassic Park series - but really really cool.
I also like flying dinosaurs, like the pterodactyls and pteranodons. Or are they the same? Bleh, I do get confused. Guess it's normal, though, lol. Scientists get confused too! (brontosaurus/allosaurus)
Speaking of Jurrasic Park, I would totally go visit if it happened in real life. Who's with me?
Huehuehue, you know what'll happen if you go to Jurassic Park now, they made enough movies about it. xD On the other hand, I'd try to be one of the first people to get there, if they ever did, just because it would be such an amazing experience. Even if the dinosaurs wouldn't be like how they looked billions of years ago.
Also speaking of favorite dinosaurs, I have to admit that raptors and the Spinosaurus have stolen my heart and they both share the first spot here. I also kind of like the T-rex, kinda stupid maybe, but it still gets my second place. :P It didn't help that the old lady herself looked amazing in Jurassic World. <3 *swooning*
I used to love dinos as a youngin. At six years old, apparently I knew a tonne about them and always wanted to read about them, etc. I have photos from when a travelling dinosaur exhibition came to our local museum, of me and family with the skellingtons and statues, and they're pretty cool. But...that said, I do not remember a lot these days. xD
Velociraptor is pretty cool (speedy little scary pack animal...). And anything they would call a "long neck" in Land Before Time. They're like prehistoric giraffes. I love it. (brachiosaurus, etc).
On another note, I've never actually seen any of the Jurassic Park films...haha. Then again, I only got around to watching Lord of the Rings the other month. I'm so behind the times, one of my favourite shows is from the sixties and I've used "rad" in conversation.
*hisses like a cat* NEVAAAAA. Actually, I probably will. One of my best friends roped me into watching LotR, they'll probably manage the same with Jurassic Park, haahaha.
You know, it's never been much of a problem for me on this site. But on ANOTHER site right now, I'm having a bit of trouble separating what I know metagame from what my character knows in-universe. *facepalm*
I added a poll for fun. Deathmatch between the current most prominent (in roleplay, at least) Elementals. There can be only one winner! Vote above and then comment here with your well reasoned, ridiculous, or just naturally biased reasons as to why your chosen Elemental is best. =P
Adutaine all the way wooooooooo.
She'd use her children and Creations as meat-shields.
EDIT: CARP I FORGOT VIAMOR ah well, he can be in the next poll.
Definitely not Fazoola. She doesn’t kill. She brings life wherever she goes. *Starts singing* Flower gleam and glow; let your power shine…
Ysera? No. While agile and strong, her powers are mainly limited to the ground. Seeing as all of the other Elementals she’s going up against can fly, her ground powers are negated. The lightning thing? Well, certainly dangerous upon how it’s used, the conductor, and if the thing is grounded or not, but electricity also has the potential to do not much to someone. Hurt, sure, but maybe not kill. At least it’s terrifying ‘cause, y’know, the thunder and all that crap. Oh and calling on the birds. Um, what? Wouldn’t the birds be more loyal to Astraeus than her because well, they’re creatures of air not earth?
Now to Icarus. Cool powers with the shadows and stuff and there are definitely a lot of shadows wherever one goes. But he likes direct combat, hand-to-hand so to speak. Against a much faster or a long-range combatant he’d probably not do so well. I think he’d put up a pretty good fight, but I don’t think he’d win. He could certainly hide in his shadows though.
Adutaine, Elemental of Time. She’s a close combatant like Icarus, just much larger. The horns, the fire, the claws: all lethal weapons. She’s certainly not a dragon anyone would want to fight. But once again, like Icarus, against a faster or long-range combatant, there’s a good chance she’d lose. I’d write her off and say she never be able to win accept for one thing: she can stop time. Aww crap, errybody bettah watch out! Fighting? She ain’t got time for that! And no one can do a thing about it. Adu could quite easily end this battle by picking off everyone else while they’re suspended in time. You’re fighting against her and then, before you know it, you’re dead. Ah geez, ah geez! Terrifying ain’t it? Yes, yes it is. I’m shaking in my boots.
And last but definitely not least: Astraeus. Okay, so he’s small and his powers aren’t necessarily offensive, and he’s probably not quite right in the head. But the best offense is a great defense right? He’s small, but he’s the fastest Elemental and you can’t hurt what you can’t catch; the fact that most, if not all the other Elementals would be underestimating him; also, he controls air. “So?” You may be wondering, “What’s so special about that?” Well good question! I’m so glad you asked! Air, besides life in our lovely rp, is probably the most needed element. You need air to breathe, or at least the oxygen in the air; you need air to move (molecules in the air provide friction which allows movement) and dragons certainly need air to fly. He could quite conceivably prevent his opponents from moving and then attack, or pull the air from their lungs and suffocate them, or take the oxygen rich air around them and replace it with nitrogen (or some such thing) so that they’ll fall asleep and never wake up. Yeesh! Harsh ain’t it.
So, who wins? Obviously, my top two candidates are Adutaine and Astraeus. But I believe Astraeus would come out on top because he’s awesome and I’m biased. And there you have it, kiddos: my insightful and somewhat biased reasonings! I hope you all enjoyed it and please tune in next time to Torin’s Theories!
Disclaimer: No birds were harmed in the making of this documentation.
Wow, I never realized quite how relevant that song is to Fazoola. Other than the fact that she isn't much of a singer and doesn't need to sing to heal...A deathmatch is definitely not her thing but I voted for her because she is my Elemental and while everyone else kills each other, she'll still be living. That is my reasoning.
I didn't even know about the bird thing! =0 Ysera, you cray. Though since it's never been established in-universe, we can probably cut that power out when she finally gets adopted. xD
Your Adu bit made me giggle. You forgot one thing, though. She doesn't need to move to activate her powers, she could freeze Astraeus the moment he tried to force the air from her lungs. ;D just disregard the bit where freezing time disorientates her significantly
Kunabee That makes for an amusing mental image. xD
Chaos and everything blowing up, while Kuna just sits there with Fazoola encouraging little chicks to hatch or some shizz.
Fazoola and Kuna save the universe by ignoring all the psychos killing things.
Samantha: And Paradox was amazing Dae! I enjoyed writing Adutaine opposite them. =)

Samantha: I get that Blazeh, no worries. <3 The site is pretty dead, it was just me and 27th and we couldn't keep it going on our own.
Apr 23, 2018 12:00:45 GMT
DaeSiggil: Oops, I know I haven't often helped by disappearing as I did. But still thinking about this place! <3
Apr 18, 2018 16:11:08 GMT
Verridith: Hey hon, love you guys but haven't seen anything happen since 2017 ;A; hope all are well! But have to remove you from BTACD's sister sites. I'm sorry! </3 </3 </3
Apr 6, 2018 12:22:38 GMT
Samantha: Exactly! It can be tricky, back home most of my friends are just from school, university or work. xD And it was lovely. They were all so lovely, the ones I was with spent the whole time talking about history, it was fun and edumacational.
Sept 30, 2017 10:02:29 GMT
27th: Wow! You got to have dinner with the authors? Making new friends is always nice. I know that struggle as I don't socialize like my peers.
Sept 12, 2017 18:00:11 GMT
Samantha: that great at doing haha (I don't like going out to parties and stuff, which seems to be the main way people my age socialise.)
Sept 11, 2017 23:11:00 GMT
Samantha: -looks at timestamp on last reply- Eeeek, apologies for the delay! But yeah it was AMAZING. My favourite author signed my favourite book, and we even had dinner with the authors one of the nights. Plus, I made some new friends, which I don't tend to be
Sept 11, 2017 23:10:37 GMT
27th: That sounds very cool! I would have loved going to something like that.
Aug 20, 2017 21:03:22 GMT
Samantha: It just means 'science fiction and fantasy.' So it was a conference for authors of these things, and scholars who study them!
Aug 19, 2017 21:10:27 GMT
27th: Glad you had a good time in Sweden! What is SFF?
Aug 11, 2017 16:08:48 GMT
Samantha: Sorry for the disappearance. I was in Sweden for an SFF conference- it was pretty cool!
Aug 11, 2017 10:48:27 GMT
Samantha: It's sad, yeah. We need more members to have more staff, we need more staff to keep the place active, and we need to have the place active to get more members. Sort of a vicious cycle. =P
Jul 31, 2017 16:46:13 GMT
Samantha: The problem is that the main person who likes to run contests, Riv, also has a tendency to disappear. xD And I don't have the time and the energy to run this place proper on my own.
Jul 31, 2017 16:45:38 GMT
27th: Yes, it is a lot of work. Though, I agree it could be worth the effort. As far as contests go, we've tried them here at DotE before. I don't know how well any of them worked but we it couldn't hurt to try.
Jul 30, 2017 5:53:42 GMT
R: Could try a contest?
Jul 29, 2017 4:40:04 GMT
shadow: Well. Yea. That also is a lot of work. It would be worth it though
Jul 28, 2017 4:12:51 GMT
27th: Well, recruitment would be key to that. Contacting the members we already have to try and get them to participate here would also be part of that.
Jul 26, 2017 15:52:29 GMT
shadow: I wonder what would happen if we tried to make it alive again
