Sons & Daughters
Criss, son of the Water and Fire Elementals, is an angry and conflicted young dragon with a buried heart of gold. While many dragons are most at home in the sea or the sky, Criss prefers to keep his feet firmly planted on the ground, thank you so very much. But if he could only embrace his Water heritage, he would find that he can breathe underwater just as well as he can breathe air!
Tabae is an alv who was always born to believe that he is better than the other races and pure. Elven blood is the most noble and true of all creatures, millienia of perfection that have created the most graceful and beautiful creatures in alves. This is how Tabae sees the world at least. He is appalled that all Riders are not avles, that the other Elementals who would dare take on lesser Riders are simply hindering themselves.
Tabae himself is a slightly unusual case. He seeks to learn everything that he can about the world. He very rarely cares how this might be learned or even sometimes what the consequences of such knowledge might be he will seek it out. This has led to him coming across some knowledge from less than savory sources or bordering on the inhumane. But it does not matter to him, so long as his thirst for knowledge can be satisfied for even a short time it is worth any price.
Tabae stands at just over 2 meters tall with a rather slender build weighing just over 60 kilograms. There is very little muscle about his frame as the life of a scholar is not one that really lends itself to a strong and imposing body. Though he cares enough to ensure that he is always tidy and fit so as not to disrupt the perfect form of the elves. His hair kept cut always above his shoulders and well washed.
He dresses himself in the finest clothes that he can find, sometimes even needing to make his own in order to repair or make ones all the better. He prefers tighter garments such as shirts and slacks when seen out and about. Even through the cold he has used his magic to ensure he can strive for elegance. Pins, rings, necklaces, earrings, all things that appear to be fancy and and elegant he will seek out.
Tabae has served with Viamor for longer than nearly any other of his riders. Though seeing as many of them were soon lost to experiments or one of Viamor's violent outbursts it isn't a hard record for a longer living alv to achieve. Tabae was more readily selected than previous riders as he was a curious creature to Viamor. Someone who shared his curiosity and thirst for perfection, though such a weak and small form by comparison. With little training in combat he found in a Rider someone who was much more useful for his new schemes than any combat. His hunger for knowledge and little else has allowed him to quietly exist within Viamor's tower and wander the lands without fear. This cocky wandering has gotten him into trouble before, but in the pursuit of knowledge and perfection it is always worth it. Besides, who would dare encourage the wrath of his Elemental by troubling him?
Being an elven scholar there is not much that Tabae is versed in the way of combat. Being the Rider of an Elemental certainly makes that oversight a little less punishing in this harsh world they all live in. He has the basic training like any elf to be able to use delicate finesse weaponry. He has a rapier that he keeps by his side that he has always had, though there is a bit of dust and rust that seems to adorn it many times showing its general lack of use.
If for some reason he has nothing on him to use as a weapon he can craft a simple but brittle weapon out of the moisture in the air made out of ice. His only other form of fighting is largely based on his defensive magic. He can erect barriers of magic and ice to keep himself safe or others confined so he can make his escape.
Tabae's powers come in his wit, ingenuity, and ability to manipulate the world around him. Being naturally magical he is able to use the most basic of magic, especially those tied to cold and ice. He can easily survive in freezing temperatures and allow others near him the same comfort and ease, though the larger the creature or group the more straining it is on him.
Being a rather proud creature he has many secrets that he strives to protect. Therefore he has learned how to make several defensive wards to inscribe into objects. If someone who does not speak the password attempts to manipulate such an object they are struck by extreme cold and ice. Freezing the object in question to keep out others or possibly freeze those that touch it. Also this magic can be used to better preserve objects, allowing the knowledge he finds to never fade from the pages it is written upon.

Samantha: I get that Blazeh, no worries. <3 The site is pretty dead, it was just me and 27th and we couldn't keep it going on our own.

DaeSiggil: Oops, I know I haven't often helped by disappearing as I did. But still thinking about this place! <3

Verridith: Hey hon, love you guys but haven't seen anything happen since 2017 ;A; hope all are well! But have to remove you from BTACD's sister sites. I'm sorry! </3 </3 </3

Samantha: Exactly! It can be tricky, back home most of my friends are just from school, university or work. xD And it was lovely. They were all so lovely, the ones I was with spent the whole time talking about history, it was fun and edumacational.

27th: Wow! You got to have dinner with the authors? Making new friends is always nice. I know that struggle as I don't socialize like my peers.
Sept 12, 2017 18:00:11 GMT
Samantha: that great at doing haha (I don't like going out to parties and stuff, which seems to be the main way people my age socialise.)
Sept 11, 2017 23:11:00 GMT
Samantha: -looks at timestamp on last reply- Eeeek, apologies for the delay! But yeah it was AMAZING. My favourite author signed my favourite book, and we even had dinner with the authors one of the nights. Plus, I made some new friends, which I don't tend to be
Sept 11, 2017 23:10:37 GMT
27th: That sounds very cool! I would have loved going to something like that.
Aug 20, 2017 21:03:22 GMT
Samantha: It just means 'science fiction and fantasy.' So it was a conference for authors of these things, and scholars who study them!
Aug 19, 2017 21:10:27 GMT
27th: Glad you had a good time in Sweden! What is SFF?
Aug 11, 2017 16:08:48 GMT
Samantha: Sorry for the disappearance. I was in Sweden for an SFF conference- it was pretty cool!
Aug 11, 2017 10:48:27 GMT
Samantha: It's sad, yeah. We need more members to have more staff, we need more staff to keep the place active, and we need to have the place active to get more members. Sort of a vicious cycle. =P
Jul 31, 2017 16:46:13 GMT
Samantha: The problem is that the main person who likes to run contests, Riv, also has a tendency to disappear. xD And I don't have the time and the energy to run this place proper on my own.
Jul 31, 2017 16:45:38 GMT
27th: Yes, it is a lot of work. Though, I agree it could be worth the effort. As far as contests go, we've tried them here at DotE before. I don't know how well any of them worked but we it couldn't hurt to try.
Jul 30, 2017 5:53:42 GMT
R: Could try a contest?
Jul 29, 2017 4:40:04 GMT
shadow: Well. Yea. That also is a lot of work. It would be worth it though
Jul 28, 2017 4:12:51 GMT
27th: Well, recruitment would be key to that. Contacting the members we already have to try and get them to participate here would also be part of that.
Jul 26, 2017 15:52:29 GMT
shadow: I wonder what would happen if we tried to make it alive again
