Sons & Daughters
Criss, son of the Water and Fire Elementals, is an angry and conflicted young dragon with a buried heart of gold. While many dragons are most at home in the sea or the sky, Criss prefers to keep his feet firmly planted on the ground, thank you so very much. But if he could only embrace his Water heritage, he would find that he can breathe underwater just as well as he can breathe air!
Introverted - Kiira tends to keep to herself. She prefers to listen over talking, and tries not to get included in others problems. In fact, she would rather just stay away from any sort of drama. She prefers to be the audience, not the show. Being secluded for years, she tends to be quiet, yet her mind is racing constantly. Deep down, she yearns for good company, but can not trust anyone enough to let them in.
Open Minded/Closed Heart - Kiira is open minded to many philosophies and is generally very curious about how the world works. She lost faith in the Dragon Goddess due to her past, so she sometimes questions her meaning in life. She believes in experiences over materials, and hated the war that ravaged the island eons ago. War was never the answer in her opinion, and the lust for power never appealed to her. As mentioned before, her heart is closed off to others, especially males, who she fear and despise. The only other dragon she trusts, and forgives, is Icarus. The dragons she hates the most, however, are those from the Ice Elemental and his creations.
Appreciative - Despite her closed off personality, Kiira actually really appreciates the little thing life give her. She loves flying in the moonlight. She loves rolling in tall grass. She loves all the little things in life. Kiira has learned from her solitude that to not feel alone, one must feel Nature around one as a living thing. She has lived a long time, and knows how to sit back and enjoy it. One of her other favorite activities is singing. She has a beautiful voice, and will often sing to herself.
Desire to Help - Due to the reason why she was created, Kiira has the urge to help others when they ask her of it, even if it will risk her own life. These urges will become mentally painful if she chooses to ignore it. This is only if someone directly asks her for help. Don't get her wrong, though, she may help those who need it without being asked. If she can avoid it, she tries to. Kiira hates being forced to do things.
Kiira is predominantly black. Her form is skinny and lanky, much like a feline's. This makes her movement graceful and quick, but her strength is weak, Her throat, underbelly, and underwings are a deep maroon. Sharp spines trace along Kiira's back and down her tail, which ends in a razor-like cartilage structure. She can strike her tail like a scorpion, or lash sideways like a machete. Although sharp, her actual tail force is weak. Her head is short, again, much like a feline's head. Kiira has two large, silver horns on top of her head, while two smaller one protrude out the side. She rarely uses these as weapons, since they are rather short and are only good in close combat. Kiira has slender, but long wings. This makes her prone to breaking a wing easier than other dragons. On the fold of her wings, however, she has two small sharp hooks.
Kiira has a couple marking on her body. One on her forehead in the shape of a diamond with two smaller diamonds beside it. She also has a series of diamonds on her shoulder and hindquarters. Lastly, she wears a silver chain that was unremovable. It was created by some sort of magic, given to the Ice dragons, and used on her when she was captured.

Kiira has the ability to create "shadow creatures". By manipulating shadows, she can create a 3D form of any known creature to her. Since she has been practicing this power, she has been able to create forms over longer and longer distances. The furthest at this point has been from over a mile. Her limitations is that she can not use them to spy, only to trick others into thinking they see something when they don't. She can not see or hear through the shadow creations. However, she has an "awareness" of the shadow creatures surroundings, so even if she can see the shadow creature, she knows where it is and what objects are around it.
In addition, she has regular fire like a dragon, except her's is black as night when breathed out and much hotter than regular fire. If she lights something on fire, such as wood or dry grass, it will return to it's normal bright color. The disadvantage is that she can not use her own fire to light the way unless she lights something else on fire.
During the war between Darkness and Ice over a strip of land near their borders, Icarus created Kiira as in the intention of an aid to others. She was created young, much like a human between 20-25. At first she was unaware of her inability to resist helping. She thought it was her choice. She would run messages, hunt, build weapons, etc. to help in the war. She also knew basic healing techniques. Kiira never grew close to anyone at the time. All her focus was on helping and she didn't have time to dedicate her time to anyone.
When she was asked to bring supplies to her fellow Creations near the edge of the Ice territory where it meets the Water territory as well, Kiira was confronted by Ice Creations. They surrounded her with a wall of ice, too thick to melt even with her intense black fire. One had the ability to lower her body temperature till Kiira passed out. When she woke, she was in an underground ice cave, chained to the wall. The chain and neck restraint were made out of some sort of enchanted steel. Fire did not even make it warm, and her claws didn't even scratch it.
Kiira was trapped. The first time she saw a dragon, she tried fighting them with blind rage. They merely smirked and told her to "help them out" but completing their "desires". Kiira was unable to resist. They had told her that they had been spying on her for quite some time, and eventually learned that she could not resist helping others. No matter what this "helping" was. Kiira did everything they wanted. It was mostly males, but once in awhile a female would come in. Not all of the task were for pleasure. They made her kill other dragons that they captured as well. Kiira had begun to lose hope. In her seclusion, though, she practiced her shadow creature powers and was able to develop them better. Once she tricked and Ice dragon into thinking that she was escaping, but once he found out she had tricked him he raged on her.
On a night of no moon, she heard a commotion outside of her cell. The door burst open, but the fires that lit the outside had been blown out. A swift figure flew in and broke the chain with a single slash. She could feel his power just by standing near him. He hesitated near the door, and she knew he wanted her to follow him. Kiira began to get disoriented, but being a Darkness dragon she had better eyesight in the pure dark than most others. The figure she was following moved fast, and Kiira was barely able to keep up. Finally, she burst into the open. The figure had disappeared. Finding her bearings, Kiira swiftly flew home. She never knew who had saved her, and still has not found out to this day.

Samantha: I get that Blazeh, no worries. <3 The site is pretty dead, it was just me and 27th and we couldn't keep it going on our own.

DaeSiggil: Oops, I know I haven't often helped by disappearing as I did. But still thinking about this place! <3

Verridith: Hey hon, love you guys but haven't seen anything happen since 2017 ;A; hope all are well! But have to remove you from BTACD's sister sites. I'm sorry! </3 </3 </3

Samantha: Exactly! It can be tricky, back home most of my friends are just from school, university or work. xD And it was lovely. They were all so lovely, the ones I was with spent the whole time talking about history, it was fun and edumacational.

27th: Wow! You got to have dinner with the authors? Making new friends is always nice. I know that struggle as I don't socialize like my peers.
Sept 12, 2017 18:00:11 GMT
Samantha: that great at doing haha (I don't like going out to parties and stuff, which seems to be the main way people my age socialise.)
Sept 11, 2017 23:11:00 GMT
Samantha: -looks at timestamp on last reply- Eeeek, apologies for the delay! But yeah it was AMAZING. My favourite author signed my favourite book, and we even had dinner with the authors one of the nights. Plus, I made some new friends, which I don't tend to be
Sept 11, 2017 23:10:37 GMT
27th: That sounds very cool! I would have loved going to something like that.
Aug 20, 2017 21:03:22 GMT
Samantha: It just means 'science fiction and fantasy.' So it was a conference for authors of these things, and scholars who study them!
Aug 19, 2017 21:10:27 GMT
27th: Glad you had a good time in Sweden! What is SFF?
Aug 11, 2017 16:08:48 GMT
Samantha: Sorry for the disappearance. I was in Sweden for an SFF conference- it was pretty cool!
Aug 11, 2017 10:48:27 GMT
Samantha: It's sad, yeah. We need more members to have more staff, we need more staff to keep the place active, and we need to have the place active to get more members. Sort of a vicious cycle. =P
Jul 31, 2017 16:46:13 GMT
Samantha: The problem is that the main person who likes to run contests, Riv, also has a tendency to disappear. xD And I don't have the time and the energy to run this place proper on my own.
Jul 31, 2017 16:45:38 GMT
27th: Yes, it is a lot of work. Though, I agree it could be worth the effort. As far as contests go, we've tried them here at DotE before. I don't know how well any of them worked but we it couldn't hurt to try.
Jul 30, 2017 5:53:42 GMT
R: Could try a contest?
Jul 29, 2017 4:40:04 GMT
shadow: Well. Yea. That also is a lot of work. It would be worth it though
Jul 28, 2017 4:12:51 GMT
27th: Well, recruitment would be key to that. Contacting the members we already have to try and get them to participate here would also be part of that.
Jul 26, 2017 15:52:29 GMT
shadow: I wonder what would happen if we tried to make it alive again
