Sons & Daughters
Criss, son of the Water and Fire Elementals, is an angry and conflicted young dragon with a buried heart of gold. While many dragons are most at home in the sea or the sky, Criss prefers to keep his feet firmly planted on the ground, thank you so very much. But if he could only embrace his Water heritage, he would find that he can breathe underwater just as well as he can breathe air!
The dragoness dipped her head in thanks. Thanks, but I think I will remain down here. I want to explore the caves more. I'm sure I will be fine. Kiira let out a yawn. Her red tongue flicking out of her maw. She was relatively excited to continue to explore.... after a good sleep of course. She was probably going to return to the butterfly cave. It was gorgeous there. Maybe there was more hidden beauty further down. Perhaps she would find the answers she was seeking. She has never found them above ground. Although, she had not explored much beyond the Darkness territory anyway. This territory was were she felt safe from...
Kiira glanced from D to Darkflame, then back to D. I want to apologize for my behavior before. It would seem that perhaps you aren't what I thought you were. I hope our paths cross again. She smiled at them before turning to leave through one of the side tunnels. Oh and take care of Darkflame, D. Her voice became threatening and dark, but she intended it that way. She took off down the tunnel, a small black bat shadow trailing cloesly behind her.
...Save me from the nothing I'Ve become.

"Goodbye, Kiira!" Darkflame called, as her new acquaintance disappeared into the tunnels.
Her apology had been welcome, though her sudden change in tone confused Darkflame a little. Like she was warning them, or rather D against letting something happen to her. But why would D do that? In any case, why would it be his fault if something did happen? It wasn't like it was his job to make sure she didn't get into trouble. Darkflame wasn't known for being a great risk-taker, anyway.
With Kiira gone, the furry Creation turned her attention towards her shining companion. Her wings were starting to ache a fair bit from the effort of such minuscule manoeuvres, and so she began to edge towards the ground, hoping that D would follow her lead.
"So what now?" she asked. "I mean, obviously you want to return to Fazoola, of course. But I really think we should warn Icarus about this creature first, if only so he can take steps to prevent future attacks."
NOTES: I think you can probably just wrap up this thread with your next post, right 27th? xD Regardless of whether D and Darkflame go together to tell Icarus about the worm, that stuff can happen "off-screen", so to speak (unless you have an objection?). But I really would like for her to go to the Life territory with him, it would be a nice change of scenery for my little Creation. =P
With any other dragon that he had made friends with, at parting, D would have reached forward with a light flick of the tail or perhaps a muzzle touch but he understood that while Kiira accepted him now, something like that would be most unwelcome from him. So, he settled for a dip of the head.
"If we ever meet again, I would hope it is under far more welcome circumstances," D said.
The Life creation frowned at Kiira as the red and black dragoness took her leave of them. Still not fully accepting of him, apparently. He noted Darkflame going to land and followed her lead. He looked at his friend curiously for a moment.
"Kiira is certainly a puzzle, isn't she? Isn't it obvious by now that I care deeply for my friends and support them in any situation, especially dangerous ones?" D snorted lightly and shook his head. He didn't want to think of Kiira anymore for the moment. They had different matters to attend to.
"Yes, I do need to get back but I also know that Fazoola would want me to let Icarus know of the dangers. Besides that, I'm not leaving you alone now, not after that," D said, flicking his tail towards the body of the dead worm.
D flared out his wings, feeling them stretch with a sigh of protest due to their very recent activity. He did it to get the best use of the light, just to make sure no more dangers were lurking in the shadows. Satisfied, the Life creation folded his wings and padded to the mouth of the tunnel.
"Lets go, Darkflame. We've got a walk ahead of us and who knows where your Elemental is now," D said with a grin.
There, that settles it, I think. Oh and that's fine. They could do that off-screen. Poor Darkflame does need some peace and quiet at last. The Life territory is one of the most ideal places to do that in.
Samantha: And Paradox was amazing Dae! I enjoyed writing Adutaine opposite them. =)

Samantha: I get that Blazeh, no worries. <3 The site is pretty dead, it was just me and 27th and we couldn't keep it going on our own.

DaeSiggil: Oops, I know I haven't often helped by disappearing as I did. But still thinking about this place! <3

Verridith: Hey hon, love you guys but haven't seen anything happen since 2017 ;A; hope all are well! But have to remove you from BTACD's sister sites. I'm sorry! </3 </3 </3

Samantha: Exactly! It can be tricky, back home most of my friends are just from school, university or work. xD And it was lovely. They were all so lovely, the ones I was with spent the whole time talking about history, it was fun and edumacational.

27th: Wow! You got to have dinner with the authors? Making new friends is always nice. I know that struggle as I don't socialize like my peers.
Sept 12, 2017 18:00:11 GMT
Samantha: that great at doing haha (I don't like going out to parties and stuff, which seems to be the main way people my age socialise.)
Sept 11, 2017 23:11:00 GMT
Samantha: -looks at timestamp on last reply- Eeeek, apologies for the delay! But yeah it was AMAZING. My favourite author signed my favourite book, and we even had dinner with the authors one of the nights. Plus, I made some new friends, which I don't tend to be
Sept 11, 2017 23:10:37 GMT
27th: That sounds very cool! I would have loved going to something like that.
Aug 20, 2017 21:03:22 GMT
Samantha: It just means 'science fiction and fantasy.' So it was a conference for authors of these things, and scholars who study them!
Aug 19, 2017 21:10:27 GMT
27th: Glad you had a good time in Sweden! What is SFF?
Aug 11, 2017 16:08:48 GMT
Samantha: Sorry for the disappearance. I was in Sweden for an SFF conference- it was pretty cool!
Aug 11, 2017 10:48:27 GMT
Samantha: It's sad, yeah. We need more members to have more staff, we need more staff to keep the place active, and we need to have the place active to get more members. Sort of a vicious cycle. =P

Samantha: The problem is that the main person who likes to run contests, Riv, also has a tendency to disappear. xD And I don't have the time and the energy to run this place proper on my own.
Jul 31, 2017 16:45:38 GMT
27th: Yes, it is a lot of work. Though, I agree it could be worth the effort. As far as contests go, we've tried them here at DotE before. I don't know how well any of them worked but we it couldn't hurt to try.
Jul 30, 2017 5:53:42 GMT
R: Could try a contest?
Jul 29, 2017 4:40:04 GMT
shadow: Well. Yea. That also is a lot of work. It would be worth it though
Jul 28, 2017 4:12:51 GMT
27th: Well, recruitment would be key to that. Contacting the members we already have to try and get them to participate here would also be part of that.
Jul 26, 2017 15:52:29 GMT
shadow: I wonder what would happen if we tried to make it alive again
