Kohaku was surrounded, boxed in on all sides. And, even with her stormy eyes glaring at them in a way that very clearly said "get lost", her captors didn't appear to have any plans of leaving. At least Tsiaa was off hunting elsewhere, she thought, otherwise they definitely wouldn't have been able to move on- the gryphon would probably have been far too fascinated by the wolf-like creatures to do so. They would have simply been too "shiny" to pass up anything less than a thorough inspection and who knew how many questions for the lesser elemental to answer about them.
Yes, it was a very good thing she and her Rider had temporarily parted ways before now. Since what she really wanted at the moment was a little time to relax, that went double. Only, she found it a bit hard to relax with a pack of Soles staring her down. Sure, maybe she'd brought it on herself by wandering into one of the forests in her father's territory, but still. Attracted to some weird sense of familiarity- or whatever it was that had brought them to her- or not, she really wouldn't have minded if the dogs cleared out. Right now.
At last, though, a few warning growls and a couple of too-close snaps seemed to get the message across; the Soles turned tail and left. "Finally," Kohaku grumbled with a huff, glaring after them for a while to make sure none of them decided to come back. When she was satisfied, the dragoness settled down on the soft grass of the clearing she'd found, folding her wings tightly against her sides and wrapping her tail around her body. Unwanted onlookers taken care of, it seemed she had a whole lot of nothing to get to. Best not to waste any time, then.
Taking a slow breath in and out, she did just that, resting her head on her forelegs to enjoy the feel of dappled sunlight on her fur and feathers for a while. Not quite sleepy- although a nap was certainly a decent prospect for later- she summoned up a few small orbs of light to mess with. It almost counted as practice. As far as anyone else was concerned it did, at least.
The orbs remained orbs for a moment or two, dancing through the air on no set path, before she began molding them to her whims. This one became a tiny flock of glowing birds, and that one cycled through every imaginable color at random, and a third burst into a cloud of stars over and over again. Perhaps not the most exciting form of entertainment, but it suited Kohaku just fine as a way to while away some time.
