Life had been going so well for Rashan. While he knew that Creations were unable to have children, he had found a great companion in Thallia who understood him better than anyone else he had met before. Though since that huge earthquake he had not seen or heard anything about her, except for fleeting images in his time-bent vision that only reminded him of the difficulties ahead of him without her aid.
His wanders always took him far and wide, though he was not sure why he had come to this area. The floating blocks of earth rising up into the sky were strange enough, but trying to dodge the movements when he was seeing where they were five minutes previously instead of their current location made it nearly impossible to avoid it all. He was quite the sight to see for anyone watching, struggling to fly straight as he avoided obstacles that he could only sometimes see. Though it was not only the very land that was against him, but also the things that lived there.
Being a dragon he was a natural hunter, easily large enough to take down most of the wild game that was around. Though the less noise his prey made, which most prey of any noticeable size did, made it nearly impossible for him to tell the real things apart from their past selves, or even visions of creatures long dead or not even born yet. Just getting by was difficult for him, made all the more difficult as he was starting to weaken from the lack of food.
Flying low over a small clearing he finally gave out a roar of frustration and a dive, aiming for what seemed to be a whole herd of deer. Though to his exasperation as his claws reached down to grasp one they passed right through the vision. The herd had already moved along, now allowing him to only see the remaining carcass of a devoured deer nearby. He let his dive carry him down in frustration. He slid a short distance on his belly through the loose dirt before coming to a stop. He remained lying there, tired and frustrated with the world barely able to restrain some sobs.
