The sands had given way to greenery - reluctantly, at first, but life soon overwhelmed the grains and, once again, Tsiaa was confronted by a forest. Even from on high, however, she could tell there was something...off, about this forest. No sounds reached her ears, no branches rustled, no leaves fell. Silent were the expected birdsong, and the myriad other animals she had expected to flock to such a place.
Her pinfeathers stood on end just looking at the place, but Tsiaa had never been one to heed warnings. Oh, she acknowledged them, but she didn't let them deter her from her path.
The gryphon pulled into a hover, head cocking to this side and that as she watched the silent forest. Nothing moved, nothing made a sound. It was downright creepy, and creepy places usually hid secrets. Secrets she could clutch in her talons and make for the sky with. Besides that, she was near eaten alive by curiousity. Was this silence normal? Ooh, what if it wasn't? What if there was someone in trouble, or someone causing trouble - she'd have to go help, or stop, them!
With an overly dramatic flap of her wings, Tsiaa headed for the ground, skidding to a landing with wings held out and forwards to slow her momentum. Summoning her natural magic, Tsiaa willed her form to change, even as she headed forwards. What walked into the forest, eyes darting every which way in fascination, was no longer a gryphon, but an elf. After all, whatever was causing the silence was more than likely in a small, tight space, and, while she wasn't a massive gryphon, there were places she couldn't reach while all feathery.
Besides, flight was best for open spaces, and the forest may not be so acommidating.
"Hello? Anyone here?" Her voice rang out, breaking the silence, and Tsiaa felt her neck prickle at the feeling of the noise causing ripples that reverberated between the trees. That was downright nasty. "You're never going to be the hub of activity, treating people like that, she muttered, to the forest.
Still, she placed one foot in front of the other. Silence was silence - it was uncomfortable, like a cold bath, but she'd been rained on before. She could deal with a bit of quiet, no problem.
