Sons & Daughters
Criss, son of the Water and Fire Elementals, is an angry and conflicted young dragon with a buried heart of gold. While many dragons are most at home in the sea or the sky, Criss prefers to keep his feet firmly planted on the ground, thank you so very much. But if he could only embrace his Water heritage, he would find that he can breathe underwater just as well as he can breathe air!
Somewhat of a smart and thoughtful dragon, he strives to be far different from the rest. While calm, collective, and reigning with every sense of power he has, there are still edges of him that only his rider would ever know. With such a short live humans live, his connection with his rider is among the strangest, perhaps the strongest of all of the dragons, creations and elementals alike. While he will never try to pull a competition, his logical mind tries to put things in place for himself and his rider. If she is ever in trouble, he is there at her side, rather a strange thing even stronger between creations and himself. His state of mind is always revolving around that girl, and however different he becomes, he is still one to be open to the world as a whole.
Talbot comes off as an official dragon with manners all over his features. He stands tall, straight, and tries to never show the weaknesses that he holds. A pure god as he would like to think of himself as(Of a prince among his other half siblings), even if he is not. He wants to show others the maturity in serious situations. Staying calm is a key element in his demeanor, and while his interactions with others can differ in his attitude usually only the select few get to see the soft smile that he exhibits on a good mood.
Around friends, his family, he is a playful wise dragon. He loves to laugh, tell jokes, tell stories, and think about the future and past just as his rider does. Talbot would give up the world to save his friends, his life always being held at a string for them. Talbot can be a strange one indeed, but he never denies that his heart is in the right place one hundred percent of the actions he makes. He tries to make all logical decisions before rushing into something. Ever since Ivy's foster father died, he has also acted as the young girls guide.
What he fears most, is weakness, is failure. If he makes mistakes, he does not simply brush it off. He becomes frustrated, a little bit illogical, and distraught. Talbot tries to strive to protect the things he cares about, to be the better man. It bothers him when he can not achieve these things. Depression is common if he isn't careful, but luckily enough he and his rider with their strange bond seem to hold each other up in this strange and amazing world.
Lastly, is his anger. It is like no other, if one were to mess with his family they do not want to see the darkness locked away within the confines of his heart. A dark aura surrounding the dragon that could ravage the land. Fire burning everything, and as it stood his absolute rage can turn anyone insane. It isn't impossible to stop him of course, he may be powerful, but just as the others he is not invincible. His lack of thinking in his anger leaves many open holes. Causing for more damage than good it could ever do.
Talbot stands at seventeen feet in height, nearly twenty five feet long not counting the long whip like tail that he holds. His body is sleek, but as for his underside which is protected by hard scale plates. Upon his head is a set of horns on top of his snout and reaching down the back of his head. His horns on the side of his head are made of a thick material similar to that of a rams horn. Two feet in length, they both can cause severe damage if plunged into tender parts of the flesh. His wing span reached to twenty seven feet in length, and are the classical dragon wings of a spine, three spindle like fingers reaching through and a membrane in which can help within flight. With thick muscles across his body, it is clear to see that he is well fitted for combat. His tongue is a long sliver tongue that can taste the scents in the air. His long whip tail can be used as a weapon the same as the two rows of razor sharp teeth within his jaws. Talbot has three toes on each foot, with black claws to dig into the flesh of his enemies. As he stands on four legs, he also holds the ability to stand on his hind legs for long amounts of time.
His base color is a fire red color, with a darker reddish-brown color a stripe around his snout. His upper half of his body is littered with that same color of stripes, all down his neck, body, and his tail. He has bands of this color around each leg on the ankle. This color splashes over his chest plates as well. While his wing's spine is a lighter brown, and the membrane a ghostly white. The dragon's eyes are a bright yellow color and a small square eyebrow marking of a lighter red then the darker markings. His horns are also this same color as well. His thick claws are black in color. As for his tongue, which is a neon green color nearly out of place in his jaw.
His voice is a deep, soothing melody. Scratched on the edges it may have a bit of a gurgle to it. As for age taking its tole on it, despite this even his body has no scars on it since he heals so quickly. His vocal cords enjoy making small rumbles, and purrs, specially around his rider. Some of them codes only she may understand or his close friends.
For as long as Talbot has lived, he has witnessed a lot, he has witnessed death, love, and friendship all over again. Even as a young boy awing at his mother and father, the elementals of light and fire. The times were harsh, and it took some time for him to get used to all these strange things. The one thing he'd never be able to get over was the way he hated humans for such a long time after the death of his brother Jax, a fire creation that he was close to. For when the time they hunted dragons they hunted him down, and he fell into a deep depression for many years until he met an air creation by the name of Foxtrot(Only around one hundred years ago).
Foxtrot and Talbot spent a lot of time together, she was probably the best thing that could have happened to him. While simply friends, she helped him get up out of his depression. While she did vanish after some time, Talbot grew to know the world for the better, even though his hatred for humans still stood. Explaining why he stayed away from the other riders and refused to take one himself.
Talbot made many friends, and still does or at least tries, but even then it was just a way to pass the time. It was a long, very long time before he stepped back into the human world on the urge to find a rider. While it was a scary place, he met a young teen by the name of Ivy Walker. She was only around twelve years at the time, and Talbot was not very fascinated by her. The young Californian girl loved dragons, considering her foster father Denki was the one who told her stories about them all the time. Her younger sister also loved dragons. And Talbot somehow found himself spending time with the family.
Though things got ugly rather fast for the family. A history Talbot knows isn't his part to share. After the death of not only her sister, but also her foster father Ivy became distraught. Talbot was the only one who could be there for her in which she was sixteen at the time. The dragon decided to make the human his rider, not because of what she had been through, but because of their time spent together. And how strange he felt about the human being in the state she was. Her family had died a year after her lover had, which stood him to make that strict decision.
Ivy has been at his side ever since, she is eighteen years in these moments. But still retains most of her teenager qualities never being able to finish her childhood entirely. Though Talbot supports her to the fullest, and she is a smart woman he would never let get into the clutches of someone else. She's told him about her past before she had Denki, and it is a bloody one as any. And the bond just still continues.
Weapons & Powers
Talbot holds small blade on his claws to match his rider's. Used for close combat that are sharp fitted claws at the edge of each of his own natural ones. These blades are specially adapted to slice through things such as metal though. They go on his front claws as a gloves, wrapping around his foot much like a saddle or otherwise the gloves Ivy wears. He also has an attachment to go on the edge of his tail, dual blades on each side. Other then this he uses his teeth, horns, claws and tail as weapons.
Fire Powers: Talbot conjures fire balls around his shoulders from extreme heat, then throws them at who he aims them at. He can also control not only his own body temperature but others within his boundaries as well. Raising body temperature to uncomfortable temperatures or lowering a fever at that. As with his Light powers, when someone realises that these powers are being used on them they can choose to resist
Light and colors: From his fathers side he cannot do much with mild light control, but can directly in the brain, eyes or head of targets add colors, and soft lighting to try and influence mood or calm someone down depending on the targets personality, the same ability to accept or decline applies. He usually uses it on the injured.
Talbot had been sleeping for a long time now, curled up in the cave where Ivy had left him. He hadn't even noticed the girl was gone until he opened his eyes, yellow glowing iris' shining in the dim light of the cave. Talbot wouldn't have been to worried, if it hadn't been for the lack of a note to tell him that she had gone. The dragon gave a small snort, stretching himself out as his tail lashed out at the wall. Hitting it with a soft 'smack' before he stood outstretching his wings. With his luck though, she was only at the lake. This place wasn't too dangerous, but she was still a human, and plenty of creations or the other Elementals could do her perfect harm. Opening his jaws he yawned revealing a neon green tongue, which caught the girls scent as he started out of the cave. It was the middle of the night now, the full moon shining over the forest that was in the fire territory. It wasn't as hot as the other parts, and regardless, this was the home he had made for Ivy and she had fared well here.
Seeing as it was, indeed, the middle of the night, he had a pretty good idea where Ivy was. A soft smile rising on his features as he tilted his head slightly to one side, moving his wings out and gliding over to the ground of the forest. It only took him a few minutes to reach the large lake, Ivy sitting on the edge, skipping rocks into the water. Talbot let a soft purr rise in his throat, crouching he approached behind her. "You know it's easy to hear a seventeen foot tall dragon flying and landing." She said raising an eyebrow at him. Talbot let out a small chuckle, sitting beside her and curling his tail around his hind quarters to avoid it thrashing about at the risk of hitting her.
"Excuse me for trying to be a good guardian." Talbot joked lowering his neck as Ivy ran her hand over his snout before throwing another rock into the lake. He knew what she was doing, she was thinking obviously.
"I love lake's, or even water in general. It's funny really, I end up with a fire elemental and my favorite things tend to be a lot colder then you." Ivy mused mildly as Talbot rumbled in his throat. Stretching his front limbs over her as he ran his neon tongue over her short black hair. The violet eyed girl pushed on his chest. "Jesus Talbot, I'm not an ice cream cone." the girl complained considering now the top of her head was covered in steaming dragon slobber. She wiped it out of her hair wiping it on him as he only laughed.
"I was only trying to lighten the mood" Ivy stopped for a moment, lowering her head. She pulled her hands over the chest of the beast, over those plates. As she felt over his smooth skin above that. "You okay Ivy?" He asked. Ivy gave a sheepish smile to him, her eyes tearing up slightly.
"Yeah, it's just a few old memories is all." Talbot cooed softly holding the woman closer and pulling his wings over her smaller body easily. Nuzzling her affectionately as she hugged his neck sobbing softly. "You'll be alright"
Ivy despite all that has gone on in her life, is probably the most complicated human being any person could meet. She tries to stay civil to herself and others, even if she can be a bit rash on her decisions. Enjoying life to the fullest, she tends to not dwell on the past. When it does come up though, she also enjoys sharing it, it makes her feel like someone knowing her story can help her move on. She's only lived eighteen years, and all ready she has a lot of experience, making her an exceptional leader as well as Rider to Talbot.
Ivy is a kind woman, but a cocky kind. At times if ones do not listen to what she is saying she can get frustrated. She wants to do her good and help others the best she can. A protector and someone who would do anything for a creature tens times her size. By instinct she puts herself in danger for others, if she didn't have Talbot with her, who knows what would have happened. She is never afraid to give a helping hand, and she tries to think quick to solve solutions.
The girl can get pissed though, if you touch any of her close friends she will be in a foul mood. When she is in a foul mood, it is not a good thing to be around her. With Talbot who is the most important thing to her now, he knows how scary she can get when she's mad. And reckless at that, again with the lack of fear for giant dragon creatures, her delicate human body has taken plenty of blows that she has survived. It is best not to get on her bad side though, Talbot would do anything for her.
Ivy can get easily depressed when she can't do anything. It's generally hard for her to pick herself back up. She assumes that the hate of the world pulls on her shoulders when she doesn't do something correctly. Despite being kind, and thrusting herself into danger for the things she loves, the memories she share are precious. She has the support she needs, but she will never be able to understand why she has flaws. That's her one fear is being taken over by them, and being forgotten by all those who are important to her.
Ivy stands at five foot eleven inches, with a strong muscled build but doesn't appear to due to her female body. She is fairly well toned, white skin, with bright rare violet eyes or often wearing red contacts over them. Her canines are sharpened by herself, making them pointed due to her past obsession with vampires. She doesn't tan, and when she does she burns, which is why her skin is so white, but she enjoys and is used to the heat. Her hair is black in color, and cut just below the ears, if it weren't for her averagely large bust size she could have been mistaken for a man.
Ivy wears a red shirt, with a black leather jacket over it. She wears a red tie around her neck, with chained pocketed dark jeans. While her shoes are either steel toed boots or converse shoes.
Ivy doesn't appear to have any scars on her body, but she has many scattered over her stomach. They vary in size, but she doesn't enjoy showing them off to the world. If anything they are shame of when she could not protect herself. Other than that the girls health is handled moderately well.
For the first year of her life Ivy lived in a large mansion off the coast of california. Born to Zeref and Maryanne walker she was a bright child but her father was a man who was a take what he wanted all the time. Maryanne was the only buffer he had as she was the one who kept him at bay. His past of his father committing suicide triggered bad thoughts. After Maryanne died giving birth to Allen she had the two children set up for adoption Ivy was adopted by a older couple near the center of california while Allen was adopted and moved somewhere to middle states.
Ivy lived a relatively normal life, and she was happy as well. With two elder brothers a younger sister and two loving parents. Though it didn't last long when she was eight a fire started in the house while she was at school. Everyone besides her younger sister Nina died in the fire. (later revealed that Ivy's birth father was the one who started the fire) a long term family friend Denki decided to adopt the two children and for some time Ivy would only stay close to her sister and helped raise her.
Ivy's high school years were when she started to warm up again. She spent a lot of time with her foster father Denki and with her new girlfriend Raya. Nina was also the apple of her eye and even as a young fourteen year old it seemed like it was the best thing in the world. When she turned sixteen though, that's when things got weird. A dragon showed up in her backyard and that dragon was Talbot. At first she was amazed, but then acted as if it was something normal.
While at first Talbot wasn't the best, he started warming up with the family. Things seemed settled, until one night was the most hellish night in her entire life. Her real father Zeref, got into the house and his deeds were something that reached national news. It's an event Ivy left buried, that she wished to forget about and ruined most of her trust of the human race. Zeref murdered her girlfriend and her younger sister, burning Denki alive. And what he did to herself was something unspeakable leaving scars across her stomach from the many times that he stabbed her.
After recovering in the hospital and turning eighteen, Ivy fled the human world with Talbot to go live with him after he promised to protect her. It left a huge emotional scar on her heart, but she makes it seem like it didn't, and she tries to think of the world differently. But every time she thinks about it, it reminds her of her father and what he did to her and her family. While she has no problem sharing, it's an emotional boundary she is afraid of crossing with others.
After spending a little amount of time in the dragon world, she decided to return and Talbot granted her this wish. For a while, Ivy did live normally, as normal as she could though. In the back of her mind was always a sense of doubt that she would ever belong in this world with her devilish father around. Yet eventually she grew fond of a young man around her age. Romance sparked and Ivy had a single son by the name of Hajime. As time went on and raising him, his father fell ill and much to her displeasure Ivy's husband died when he was in his mid twenties.
Heart broken as Talbot came to check up on her, on the brink of Hajime's eighteenth birthday leaving her son with a job she explained that she was moving to a far far away place. Returning to the dragon world with Talbot, to try and forget how her past had played out.
These claws that sit on her knuckles are sharper than usual claws. Sharpened by fire, and very good metal Ivy has had these specially adapted to herself, and a pair for her dragon. Usually she used to prefer to use long swords, but close combat being her expert position of fighting she made the claws. They are a lot more easy to carry around then a sword as well.
Trevor is a kind gentleman on the outside. He tries to keep a friendly face and attitude at all times. Hating the idea of being seen as the bad guy one of his best qualities is trying to see the good in everyone that he meets. Extending a hand out to a stranger, it's no problem to him. He might seem a little gullible but it's not the case, as kind as he may be he isn't a push over either.
Trevor is very smart for a boy his age, while there is a lot of things he hasn't experienced he knows well enough to make decisions easily in harsh situations. He tries his best not to let fear control him, he might feel it but it is his ability to get through it that makes him feel strong on the inside. Making friends so easily Trevor is protective of the people he loves. It's easy for him to be a big brother - or otherwise someone who others can trust and depend on.
This man is cautious when he needs to be. Never would he jump into a situation empty handed if he didn't know what he could do. Think things through and best not to let his anger get a hold of things. If the right buttons are pressed however, the usually calm man can be something of a nightmare. He may be friendly but he doesn't let anything hurt those he's close to.
Trevor is a well muscled man all over his body, from constantly training his body in his spare time and being in archery in his high school years he's developed quiet an affinity to his body. He can run pretty fast and far and his endurance is exceeding that of a normal person at least. He has short black hair and some extraordinary golden eyes. Most of the time he's seen wearing a black shirt with a orange, black and white jacket over the top. He wears normal blue jeans, but always carries spares with him. Having to live in the dragon world he's learned how to repair clothes and even mildly make some when the time is needed.
- Born in America , met ivy and Talbot when he was eighteen, Ivy became like a sister or mother to him. Soon after though when he learned Ivy had become sick Talbot took him to the dragon world abandoning the human life he had once had.
- Trevor adapts to most weapons he used training in martial arts he is good at hand to hand combat, but he also has a short sword passed down to him by his father. His favorite weapon is bow and arrows and he knows how to make them pretty well.
Samantha: And Paradox was amazing Dae! I enjoyed writing Adutaine opposite them. =)

Samantha: I get that Blazeh, no worries. <3 The site is pretty dead, it was just me and 27th and we couldn't keep it going on our own.
Apr 23, 2018 12:00:45 GMT
DaeSiggil: Oops, I know I haven't often helped by disappearing as I did. But still thinking about this place! <3
Apr 18, 2018 16:11:08 GMT
Verridith: Hey hon, love you guys but haven't seen anything happen since 2017 ;A; hope all are well! But have to remove you from BTACD's sister sites. I'm sorry! </3 </3 </3
Apr 6, 2018 12:22:38 GMT
Samantha: Exactly! It can be tricky, back home most of my friends are just from school, university or work. xD And it was lovely. They were all so lovely, the ones I was with spent the whole time talking about history, it was fun and edumacational.
Sept 30, 2017 10:02:29 GMT
27th: Wow! You got to have dinner with the authors? Making new friends is always nice. I know that struggle as I don't socialize like my peers.
Sept 12, 2017 18:00:11 GMT
Samantha: that great at doing haha (I don't like going out to parties and stuff, which seems to be the main way people my age socialise.)
Sept 11, 2017 23:11:00 GMT
Samantha: -looks at timestamp on last reply- Eeeek, apologies for the delay! But yeah it was AMAZING. My favourite author signed my favourite book, and we even had dinner with the authors one of the nights. Plus, I made some new friends, which I don't tend to be
Sept 11, 2017 23:10:37 GMT
27th: That sounds very cool! I would have loved going to something like that.
Aug 20, 2017 21:03:22 GMT
Samantha: It just means 'science fiction and fantasy.' So it was a conference for authors of these things, and scholars who study them!
Aug 19, 2017 21:10:27 GMT
27th: Glad you had a good time in Sweden! What is SFF?
Aug 11, 2017 16:08:48 GMT
Samantha: Sorry for the disappearance. I was in Sweden for an SFF conference- it was pretty cool!
Aug 11, 2017 10:48:27 GMT
Samantha: It's sad, yeah. We need more members to have more staff, we need more staff to keep the place active, and we need to have the place active to get more members. Sort of a vicious cycle. =P
Jul 31, 2017 16:46:13 GMT
Samantha: The problem is that the main person who likes to run contests, Riv, also has a tendency to disappear. xD And I don't have the time and the energy to run this place proper on my own.
Jul 31, 2017 16:45:38 GMT
27th: Yes, it is a lot of work. Though, I agree it could be worth the effort. As far as contests go, we've tried them here at DotE before. I don't know how well any of them worked but we it couldn't hurt to try.
Jul 30, 2017 5:53:42 GMT
R: Could try a contest?
Jul 29, 2017 4:40:04 GMT
shadow: Well. Yea. That also is a lot of work. It would be worth it though
Jul 28, 2017 4:12:51 GMT
27th: Well, recruitment would be key to that. Contacting the members we already have to try and get them to participate here would also be part of that.
Jul 26, 2017 15:52:29 GMT
shadow: I wonder what would happen if we tried to make it alive again
