MULTIPLE CHARACTERS
OOC: Here we go! The Dragonsdeep finale thread.
Note: Whenever I'm posting, all activities from the Creation's point of view will be in red.
All activities from Akhil/Titanius's point of view will be in black.
All activities from Kysannis's point of view will be in green.
All OOC notes will be in white.
It could feel them coming. For a long time it had been imprisoned underground, in this damp, dead cavern.
It was hurt emotionally after waking up, after discovering what the Elementals had done. It had been created as a symbol for peace, but subjected to neglect... was this the Elementals' solution? Create a living thing to ensure everyone that the problem was solved, and then just throw it away?
The anger at the dragons had surged back within it as soon as it had woken up, and the Creation shivered at the returning feeling, which had crashed into the monster's soul like a tsunami onto a person, soaking the spirit and giving the Creation a new spurt of energy.
It shifted slightly, beginning to breathe heavily, its heaves echoing off the cavern walls, which shook violently. The Creation was lonely and unloved. It did not ask to be brought into the world, and it questioned the morality of the deities that brought it into the world again... well, it would show them what they'd done. The mistake they made.
It tried to move again, but it retreated immediately and tensed up, grunting and growling softly. The different energies within it from all the different Elementals were at war with each other in its soul, and it found that it could not move a few centimeters without being in pain. The forces holding the elements together, and thus the monster together, threatened to break; all the energies were pushing against the walls of its soul, like multiple people pressing against a locked door, trying to escape.
And there was nothing the Creation could do about it but wait, wait until the doomed day where it would combust and the energies would be released, free. It would die a painful death. Although it would only be for a minute, the Creation, like all living beings, dreaded its end.
A spasm shook its body, and after, the monster lay there, shaking, with fear and anger. It could not even control its own body. It could not even control its own soul. Its soul was made up of so many conflicting elements, forced to become a whole. Did it even own the soul? Was it a soul? Or was it just a patchwork of different elements, haphazardly pieced together to create something living, yet so artificial? It felt like a completed jigsaw, with the pieces from a hundred different puzzles, so that the picture was all messed up (if it even counted as a picture). Fear rocked it. The Elementals would be coming to end it. Perhaps they would do it mercifully.
It could feel emotion. Did that make it an organism? Something that lived? With a soul, maybe? Another wave of anger hit it. Angry at itself, at the energies within it, for not being able to sustain it. Would it ever see light? Would it ever get to become its own self, independent, with a soul that it completely owned? It felt angry at the Elementals once again, and it retreated into its own shadows as it heard the faint rumblings of their footsteps growing louder and closer... with them came its death.
An animalistic instinct washed over the Creation, stirring it awake. The desire, the need to be alive was programmed into every organism since the moment of their birth. And the Creation would not back down and accept death so easily. When the Elementals came, they'd better be ready. The monster did not want to die, no matter how much it hated itself. It waited, with bated breath, to meet its makers.
OOC: I feel bad for the Creation now... ;_; None of this was its fault...
Note: Although this will be posted in the Caverns of Infinite Night, the first setting will be in the Gathering Cavern. The Elementals will then set off and confront the Creation. Thus, the setting will be slightly before what's occuring in this thread.
Please let me know if I seem like I'm powerplaying! I don't like to do that. Thanks.
"All right, then?" Akhil turned to glance at the other Elementals, seeing his grim expression mirrored on some of their faces. Titanius was carrying a Chrioptian in a cage in one hand. The bat-canary's silvery glowing fur was going to be the only source of light within the blackness of the underground. Right now, in the Gathering Cavern, the cheerful glow of the various fungi and plants brightened the room, though the mood matched that of the darkness. With a curt nod, Akhil and Titanius lead the party down towards the Caverns of Infinite Night.
The Chrioptian was silent, cowering against the back of the cage as it gazed fearfully around the black surroundings. Akhil could see from the illumination that Titanius's other hand was resting lightly on the sword strapped to his belt scarf. The silver light cast an eerie glow on the walls of the tunnel, and the darkness waiting for them around the curve of the corridor promised ominous results.
Suddenly, the caverns shook once more, and the stirrings of the Creation could be felt strongly here, where it was so close.
The trip seemed to last forever, and the darkness stretched on without end. Occasionally, the Chiroptian let out a pitiful, fearful squeak. It pained Akhil to know one of his creatures was imprisoned, and that he had allowed it. At least, he mused, the Creation of Many is not one of mine.
Then, the congregation arrived at a yawning cave, stalagmites hanging off the ceiling like fangs. The cavern was filled with the stench of a living organism that lacked proper care. Akhil could hear it breathing heavily at the back of the cave.
They had found it.
Just how unstable was it? What were its capabilities? Even Titanius looked fearful, and stepped hastily off to the side to allow the Elementals to greet its monster. The Chrioptian let out a shriek. Its silverly glow bathed the creature in an unholy light.
"Creation," Akhil growled, stepping forward, his eyes glowing white, dark energy wreathing around him. Shadows surrounded the Creation, preparing to attack. "Let's not make this any worse than it has to be."
Kysannis swooped into the tunnels, plunging into the darkness eagerly. There was a flurry of squeaks and fur as a hoard of silver bat-like creatures took off in alarm. Some passing Creations looked up at her curiously, but she ignored all of them, focusing her attention on finding the Gathering Cavern. She hoped she wasn't late for the trip.
The conflict involving the Creation was something that Kysannis tried to take an intense interest in. She was itching to see the monster in person, and she secretly wished that her parents would let her participate in whatever they were caught up in. It was time that she grew up herself. Though the politics of it bored her, she was excited about the action. Would her parents let her help destroy the Creation? What was it like? Was it super dangerous? Would she die? Anxious but fearful, she attempted to navigate through the tunnels.
She knew that some of the Elementals were discouraging others from coming. She would need a disguise. Looking around, she realized that the bat-canaries had returned, clumping together, gazing at her silently and fearfully. Perfect. She stared back and studied them carefully, and then morphed into an exact replica of one.
"Okay, good," she tried to say, but it came out as a high-pitched squeak. The other Chiroptians flew off once again, and she tumbled through the air, buffeted by the wings of the others. "Hey, watch it!"
No one apologized.
Huffing, she followed them to wherever they were going, flapping hard, and settled on the low part of a wall, catching her breath and trying to assess her next move. Where was the Gathering Cavern? "Anyone of you know where the Gathering Cavern is?" she squeaked to the neighboring Chiroptians.
Someone said, "the what?" but another quickly silenced them. "Shh!"
They fell silent, and soon footsteps came echoing down the corridor. A minute later, a Chupacabra elf appeared, holding an empty cage in his hand. "Ah, there you guys are," he said, looking up at them. The bats stared back, and Kysannis tried not to make herself stand out in any way. Suddenly, the elf's eyes fixed upon her. What does he want? she thought irritably. Quietly, he placed the cage on the ground.
Suddenly, the elf lunged forward, grabbing Kysannis by the torso and flipping her onto the stomach. "Gotcha!" he grunted, and she writhed his grip, shrieking, trying to get free. The other Chiroptians had already taken off a third time.
"Let me go!" she knew he couldn't understand. He stuffed her into the cage.
"There," he said, stepping back. "Now we can finally go."
Go where? She could morph right now and escape the cage, but she had a feeling that the elf would take her to where she wanted to be. Sure enough, they arrived soon at a large mystical cave. It glowed a heavenly blue light, and bathed all its occupants in a glow. They were at the Gathering Cavern. All the Elemental dragons were looking at them, and Kysannis hoped that they couldn't see through her disguise.
Her father Tivialous was there, a little in the back, but she forced herself not to give herself away. The elf nodded to Akhil, who looked back at the others. "All right, then?" he growled. "Titanius and I will lead." She saw the elf give him an affirmative, and the group set off into the darkness.
She stayed silent, pressing her back to the walls of the cage. The blackness of the corridors were unnerving. What was worse, the entire place occasionally shook violently. The walk seemed to take forever, and everyone was silent for the most part. She couldn't help squeaking when Titanius's foot skirted to the side, causing him to stumble, and she yelled slightly when a cold wave of air hit her. It was much chillier down here, where they were many miles below the surface.
Kysannis was beginning to regret coming down. Maybe I should've stayed home, like mom and dad told me to. She could've been sunbathing in the Earth territory, comfortably settled on her favorite tree, letting the light warm her fur while she watched Creations and creatures scurry about on the ground. Here, in Dragonsdeep, it was the exact opposite.
Suddenly, the party stopped. She could feel something nearby, and Titanius cautiously stepped forward, and she saw it. The monster was right there in front of her, exhaling heavily. She couldn't see anything but a black lump, but that frightened her even more. The elf stepped forward to let the Elementals greet it, but for a moment they watched the monster with bated breath, and she wasn't sure if it was staring back.
Akhil took a step forward. "Creation," he thundered, shadows creeping upon the monster, who tensed slightly, "let's not make this any worse than it has to be."
OOC: Sigmund will make an appearance in my next post! As far as I know, anyone's free to RP the Creation, as it's an NCP character. Shall we have a posting order?
