It was quiet, and creepy, and dead. Tam should have expected as much from the Death territory, she supposed. But as they trudged along in relative silence, she couldn't help but think that they'd drawn the short straw, so to speak. Sure, Karma was Icarus' Rider and it only made sense that she should be the one to tell him about the strange encounter in the tunnels. But even the dank underground passages of Dragonsdeep seemed preferable to this...eerie, and weird smelling, environment.
She'd never walked this path before. Tam didn't know how long it would take to reach the Air lands, or how they would find Astraeus once they were there (though she supposed that was really Haikal's field of expertise). If they ever got there, then surely he would be able to find his Elemental easily enough. Tam never had too much trouble finding Tivialous.
If they ever got there. And that was a big 'if', at their current pace. Tam set her jaw and reminded herself that it wasn't really his fault, but her patience was worn thin. She was confident she could cross the necessary distance in about half the time- especially given that Tam would have been able to run at least some of the way, on her own.
Or, even better, if they'd convinced the Creation who showed them the tunnel leading to the Death territory to come with them. Now, why hadn't they done that, again? She couldn't for the life of her remember. Well, aside from the bit about not wanting to terrify everybody with stories of hostile dragonesque monsters lurking in the tunnels. That had seemed like a necessary situation to avoid, at the time. Now, Tam just wanted some swifter form of transport through these drab and creepy wastes.
"I think," Tam muttered, squinting through the fog above, "that it's going to get dark soon."

ooc: Torin- Surprise! I had time, so I wrote a starter. Moved them out of the tunnels as well, to save too many scene-changes. =P
I don't know precisely how stuffed up Haikal's leg actually is, I'm assuming he can't really run though?
Also tags 4 da ppl: Torin (4 repliesss!), Pine (b/c I wrote what Karma is probably up to), rivaxorus (because unless you tell me otherwise, I'm going to make it that Tam never did find Talbot in the tunnels and so is still on edge about that as well).
