PARADOX
▪ Words ▪ So my first roleplaying post on ED. I hope everyone will like it. <3 I also might have used thesaurus for this once. ▪ Open for one or two peeps ▪
A low snarl tore out of their throat as they stared at the stretch of sand around them. The sun was merciless as it shone down on Paradox, making their scales feel far too hot. They soon had to close shining orbs once more, nearly blinded by the glare the sand provided and steam blew out of their nostrils. It didn't provide much relief, only made them even more aware that the heat could not be escaped right now.
Nonetheless, they felt like they couldn't leave this place. Not yet at least. Something had called them here and they would wait until they found out what. One of the burning questions that always dug their fingers into their brain. Magic deep inside their core stirring, feeling familiarity with the lands around them. Familiar.
Yet also terrifically foreign. Sands ever shifting if wind blew past. Changing the landscape in ways that only an unnatural artist could replicate. One possessing no limits to what they could achieve.
Belly pressed close against the shifting sand underneath, limbs pressed close to their carcass and making themself as small as was possible with their gargantuan frame; eyes kept sealed and not a wind that currently stirred their surroundings. If one didn't know better, one could say that the creation was as dead as the environment stretching for miles in each direction. An illusion, as would be proven soon.
Footsteps reached their ears, but there was not a stir that proved a sign of life in the creature. Not ready to face the world at this current moment in time. Instead each movement was tested, fingers moving, followed by hands and feet. The limbs following soon thereafter. A stirring of the behemoth shook the sand lightly, before they arose and neck curved in the familiar s-shape.
Their eyes opened last, taking in the landscape and as on cue, the wind blew and sand grains shifted, soon this place would be unfamiliar again. Unfathomable eyes finally turning to look at whoever had disturbed Paradox. A creature born of time.
