PERSONALITY
Their personality is hard to catch, as they simply do not allow anyone to come close to them anymore. This, of course, gives the impression that they are rather asocial and do not like to mingle with any other creation that they could encounter, or anyone else who is not a creation. Which surprises no one, if they knew them, is that it is simply a defense mechanism to avoid hurting themself and anyone around them on accident. They are a friendly soul that would love nothing more to talk, but through experience they have learned that it is usually not a good idea and thus their unwillingness to talk.
Paradox, more obviously, has a clear distinct between their masculine and feminine side. A steel core, wrapped in a soft spoken facade. Their interests change little, but how they handle it differs most. The masculine would go straight out to the goal, without taking too much side paths. Which their feminine would. Of course they cannot only use it when they feel more feminine or masculine, they are smart enough to see which approach works best in any given situation. Yet mistakes sometimes happen and they can say the wrong thing to the wrong person.
However, like any breathing creature, there are multiple facets to their personality than "just friendly" or "smart," luckily there is a lot more to them than a puppet without any personality of their own. For one, they get quite snappish when the pull of their power tugs on the core of their magic. Strangely enough, that snappish behavior does not seem strange on them, even if one discounted the fact one don't know them very well. This is caused by the fact it is far from a pleasant sensation, and usually they give in rather quickly and return to their former personality.
Again this is not the end of them. They seem to like puzzles and riddles and love nothing more than to spend hours solving those if they have the time to do. Which considering their aspect is Time could be considered rather ironic. Which means that they usually aren't given the time to do so, which leaves them mentally unchallenged and bored often of the time. At least their frequent traveling through time eases some of this boredom and keeps them from doing things they shouldn't be doing in other's eyes.
Stubborn. That is another word that everyone could use to describe Paradox if they happen to tempt them into a discussion about something. They form opinions and rarely stray from them. In fact, they almost never do. Convinced of their right, they keep rigid on their own thoughts. This is not to say that their opinions never change though, if someone gives enough reason, and leaves them time to think and come to the conclusion the other is right, they will adopt this opinion for themself.
It is one of the reasons why Paradox loves learning so much, they are always seeking for more knowledge to gain a better understanding of their own existence and of anything else; however, this is mostly for their own gain and not to help someone else. They are, in that way, quite selfish. It also translates in other areas, their selfishness. Only if they care deeply for someone, they might consider doing something that isn't selfish in nature. This is no guarantee that they won't see it as a favor they've done and might expect something else later on. Luckily, it usually tends to be even more knowledge.
What is more troublesome though, is the insanity lurking underneath their scales, deep inside their mind, a small seed that is ready to grow and spread its roots deeper and deeper. The power they have received is slowly tearing them apart, with no steadying source, Paradox effectively becomes a ticking time bomb. Luckily they aren't that strong enough that they will pose too much of a danger to every living creature. This is not to say that they won't be able to cause a lot of damage if they felt so inclined. A murder at the correct time would have a lot of consequences after all, either for good or bad.
Overall, their personality is best described as distant. They will bother to talk and be rather decent at it, or work on getting mental distractions done as they work to keep their unique brand of insanity under wraps. They might know better than anyone else how bad that could go if they ever gave in to it. Paradox is walking a very thin line and thus far it has succeeded on staying up there. But eventually they will plunge down in the depths. The only question remains, when?

APPEARANCE
One first glance, if the person watching them is lucky to catch their real form, would tell that Paradox overall possesses more length than height as seems to be the case in most of their breed. However this reptile seems to take it to the extreme, even if the latter is with no doubt quite immense as well. Although if one is unlucky, the lengths they go to twist their body in knots and twists makes it harder to tell, both making themself larger and smaller to anyone and it is hard to tell what their exact size is. Admittedly, most of their length comes from their tail which is at least double the length of the rest of their body.
Their colors look mostly on the grey scale, close to black for but a few patches of slightly lighter grey decorating their body. These patches are mostly focused on the branched horns that poke out of their immense skull. Along the tendrils that seem to run across their back and tail. Most intriguing however, is the blue sheen that seems to permanently rest across their scaled hide. It seems to come from markings that shine here and there through the scales in a lined pattern with their own inner light. This blue color also continues to color the inside of their mouth and eyes.
Paradox's scales are rather small and constantly seem to shed for new ones, although it also depends on how much damage the scale has suffered. Overall it is a gradual process. Continuing on, Paradox also has some control over how much light these markings emit, for if they brighten their colors seem to change entirely. The black gives way for a dark blue color that seems befitting to the color of the markings running between the scales, over flesh and bone.
The scales on their belly however are smoother and seem to form one uninterrupted plain of smoothness, a close look, if Paradox allows someone this close, would see the scales shifting over each other and discover that their belly is made of many large overlapping ones. They form a near impenetrable barrier against every claw or tooth aimed towards them. It is near impossible to get underneath them, even then it's not surprisingly that Paradox would make everyone work for it, especially if one of the scales let lose to reveal a new one underneath. Unlike the rest of their color, these scales truly seem to be gray.
Of course they are also not without any weapons. Their arms are rather long and end in four fingered hands. The top of these hands are also covered in larger, stronger armor-like scales. The fingers on their turn, are jointed like that of a human and thus have high dexterity and can manipulate a lot of objects, even if the lack of a thumb makes things maybe a lot more difficult too. What is more worryingly though, are the claws decorating each finger, they are long hooked talons that look like they could deal a lot of damage, which they do if Paradox is inclined to use them.
Hands and talons however are not Paradox's biggest weapon, although they would be the first line of defense and attack if so required. In fact the teeth in their gaping maw would be more worryingly. They are, like the rest of them, large and sharp. They are like daggers, made for cutting through most organic material, albeit with a lot of difficulty sometimes. They are replaced by new teeth occasionally, especially if Paradox happens to lose one while hunting or fighting. Their jaw is made for it too, muscled rather generously to ensure that smaller prey than them will never escape.
Even without those two, Paradox has one last weapon to defend themself with in a pinch. The long tail they possess can be used as a whip. Although they rarely do this. They pride themself in the fact that the last feet of their tail grows a tuft of hair. Also they will have to turn to use it, which is a clear give away to either duck or jump up into the air and out of Paradox's reach.
What is the most surprising however, is the fact that this creation possesses no wings at all. Although their back seems to possess the muscles that could have powered their wings if they had been there. It also could provide a comfortable seat if Paradox would allow anyone on their back, which seems very unlikely. Their lack of wings would mean that they should not be able to fly too, but somehow they are able to hover and rarely touch the ground below them if they can help it. They are also able to fly higher and through the sky at enormous speed, and even they aren't exactly sure how they do this.

HISTORY
They have been created more than nineteen-thousand years ago, given or taken a few centuries. It is hard to pinpoint the exact date because of the enormous amount of years that have since passed from the moment they've been created and now. Just after the war had ended between the elementals. Most of the memories of their creation are foggy and it is often easier for them to say they don't remember anything. What they do remember clearly though, was the enormous pain that accompanied their being. The growth of bones, organs, muscle, skin and scale indescribable.
Paradox has a recollection of who created them, but those memories too, are quite foggy as is the rest. Not having had too much contact with the Elemental in question. But at least they can boast that those memories are clearer than the rest. After all, it wouldn't do if they forgot Adutaine, the one who gave them this life.
It was a troubling time the first few centuries of their life. As mentioned before, they suffered from the pain, this time not of their creation, but one that would stay with them forever. The pain etched in the very magic they didn't command entirely. The magic that could send them back in time and just as easily back in their current one. It was a time of learning how to deal with it, not having to learn the rest. Created with the knowledge to survival. It was easier that way, less time having to spend teaching Paradox, and having them focus on the ability they had received.
Their life wasn't too bad otherwise though, learning and discovering more of the world for themself. It was then that they got the thirst for more and more knowledge. Of course they had been created with most if it already to their name, passed down from the time elemental, Adutaine, but they wanted knowledge of their own. Knowledge that they discovered. That they didn't have to share until they chose to do so.
Another turning point came when creations could not reproduce anymore, they never had done so themself, but felt the rage from others who had done so or wanted to do so, and even felt the difference in their own body. Felt it become barren and unable to create children. They did not question it though, after all it wasn't their place and it had little effect on them.
What did they care?
From then on, all seemed to be good, but who did they try to fool? They felt the unease in the sky, in the earth; tension in creation and Elemental alike. War was coming. Paradox only could jump between times and do the best they could, perhaps to help them along, or maybe prevent them from winning. The outcome was already decided though and that war too, eventually ended. It, again, looked like it would be the last of it. The fight was done, the seemingly enemy had retreated and life could go its own way again.
However the quake shook Paradox awake again, and now they're here, wondering what life could bring in the future.

OTHER
They prefer neutral/male pronouns, but they'll respond to anything. Adutaine is the elemental that created them.
More on their power though, they have the ability to make jumps through time. These are usually small jumps in the past or to the point in time that they've left. They control those themself and it is a rather useful gift they've received. Especially if it makes that they can go back and avoid making mistakes! However, not everything is sunshine with this.
Their power is out of control, larger jumps are out of their control, forced to make these jumps and often having to be a spectator with limited actions to their name. They usually know when a large jump will happen, excusing themselves from their conversation partner. They do have very little control though, they can push the jump aside for a maximum of five minutes, usually enough to round up a conversation and depart.
What Paradox does not say though, is that it is quite painful for them to do so. It feels like their core is being ripped wide open, the magic used against themself to get them where their magic thinks they need be. Which is why they generally never tend to hold the jump back.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE
There was a proud arch to their neck, having bend their head to drink deeply from the lake they had discovered. So far back in time it was still unpolluted from the influx of humans in many a year still ahead from this moment. The time ability of them had send them back in time once more, even now it made itself know with a soft ticking of a clock, each second passing with clarity for them. The sound, if it could be called that, was even louder than the cadence of the dragon's own heartbeat. For all its loudness, it was also the most comforting sound. Paradox having always heard it, from the moment that they opened their eyes until the moment they closed them. Permanently.
However that was not a thought for now, far from it, they knew that their life wouldn't end any time soon. Far too important, they supposed, for the games being played that mere creations weren't aware of. Now it was a time to rejoice in the now of this moment. It would not be long until they got called away for the mission.
A tiresome task, especially if it was not often that they knew what exactly was their purpose here. Sometimes it required a lot of searching. Sometimes it just needed waiting until it fell straight into their hands. There was a faint sigh that fell from their maw, raising it back up and a blue gaze scanned the horizon for anything that could give them a hint. The muscles lining their body rippled, ready to move at a moment's notice. Paradox was eager to do so, and with a slight push of their hind legs, they hovered again. Their body forming the ever familiar knot as they thought.
It had been rather unfortunate that they had been called now to this time. They had been enjoying a rather pleasant conversation about different kind of teas with someone. Their magic though did not care what Paradox did. It simply wanted them to act the instant it made itself known.
Oh well, it wasn't like they weren't used to it. It stayed annoying, and after a quick goodbye their magic had enveloped them to send them away to the past to observe. Or worse, to change something. The place was at least somewhat familiar. It wasn't too far away from where they had been talking with the other dragon. Before long they would have returned, older and wiser and yet for the other it would feel like only five seconds had passed. If that.
The thought hadn't finished forming, or they had to duck as claws narrowly missed their face, avoided scales from being ripped out and sending blood spiraling down the ground under gravity's force. Paradox instantly formed a snarl as the tendrils spread, much like a startled cat. The other dragon made a slow turn, bellowing out a challenge. A primitive monster. Bah. It didn't surprise them that they had to deal with it, yet their magic didn't thrum with what felt like joy, instead it kept its steady pulsing and thus this meant that the reptile was just an animal that did not like its territory invaded.
Another snarl rippled through their throat as they made an attempt to stare the other down, but it was too enraged and even though Paradox was larger than the other reptile. It didn't seem to matter. The other would drive them out, kill them, or lose its life trying and there was no in between. The dragon would have loved avoiding the entire situation, but it didn't allow them any choice and eventually they flew away. Their tail acting like a whip to distract the other as they fled. In the end they wouldn't call it that though, far from it. It was a strategical retreat. Yes.
Even then they had to loop around and evade claws and teeth, not allowing themself to stop from aiming their own claws and teeth if the other beast came too close. That simply wouldn't do after all. It wouldn't do if they got injured and had to be forced to stop their travel. They knew how more painful their magic would be if that happened.
Once far enough though, they slowed down and eventually stopped.
Suddenly the magic swelled up in an overpowering crescendo, their head lifted once more, eyes narrowed. They came closer, hand hovering over the pile of rocks, when it was the strongest. They reached down and digits curled around the object that had caused a near annoying situation for both them and the other. Paradox did not look toward it though, for once it was secure, they felt the tug of the magic once more, bringing them back in their original time.
It was quick, and yet it dragged on forever.
Stars faded from the sky overhead, plunging them into a terrible darkness. However the glow of their body brightened until it became blinding and for a moment Paradox had to close their eyes. A reflex for they knew they would not be blinded.
Once reopened, they found that lines etched themselves into the surface of the sky, pathways that they could pick and choose at any other time. This time it was not their choice and images flashed past. Memories. History. Their own and others. Too quick to register and eventually the dragon closed their eyes again, closing their mind for what they saw. If they kept looking, their mind would break from all the information it tried to progress.
Eventually the world quietened again, their lungs filling with sudden air, sending them into coughing for a moment. A rough transit, usually it went smoother.
A few feet away from where they appeared again, the other dragon was blinking bewildered. The other had of course expected them to appear back much later. They smiled at the male dragon though and tossed their head. Pretending that nothing had happened.
Now, where did they stop their conversation?
