(this thread is a continuation of this, set later in the same day)
Silence reigned over the Frozen Forest.
Adutaine stood at its inland border, her halfling close by. Not far off if one were to glance behind, the winds which were so characteristic of the great deserts whipped at the sand. The storm had not yet arrived, the sight was fairly tame to eyes accustomed to the area, and yet a strong contrast with the still, noiseless forest stretched out before them.
"Your weapon is to be found within," she stated, matter-of-factly.
The boy was tired, that much she could ascertain. The long trek through the desert, coupled with the scorching heat, was enough to get to even the most resilient of bipeds. That encounter with Ysera, who had thankfully departed to attend to matters of greater interest to her wandering mind; as well as that Creation who followed and stared at them for a good half hour, had doubtlessly only made things worse. Still, he fought admirably. Time was pleased, impressed even, with his efforts. For one so frail of form, he showed notable fortitude. From a stubborn human heritage, no doubt. She cast him a singular, fleeting smile, before turning back to the task at hand.
"Do you have any final questions, Aiden? Once we enter the forest, the search will be yours alone. I will offer only the most limited assistance. I wish to ascertain your suitability as a Rider of Time, and initiative and quick-thinking will be key."

We could probably throw up a couple of random challenges for Aiden once they're in the forest. Make it a true Epic Quest!
