BIC: Rushing rivers were not a problem for a Water creation, not even one as small as Acacia. However, even she was not accustomed to the way the water had bubbled and boiled manically during the shaking of the entire earth! She did not understand it, being a creature of the ocean. She had only ever witnessed such turmoil when her own Elemental was near and even then, this was still different. During that time, she had been knocked about, even after she realized the best thing for her to do was for the water to take her where it will.
After that, the minuscule Water creation was grateful when the shaking of the earth had ceased. Deciding, for the moment, that she had had enough of the water, Acacia had crawled out onto a mossy rock, in the shadow of a tall tree that was still standing, its roots even firmer than the upheaval it had gone through. It was cool under the shade and she was still close enough to the rushing water to feel the spray from it. She had no idea where she was but that didn't matter to her. She did wonder about her first friend, Siru.
Where was the Earth creation with the pretty wings? What did he think of the shaking earth? Did he know what caused it? These rather radical thoughts for a creation that mostly thought of her own survival were shifted off course by the realization that she was hungry. Unfortunately, the swift-flowing river did not provide sustenance of any kind, even for a dragon of Acacia's size.
Acacia, therefore, satisfied her hunger by snapping up nearby insects and swallowing them eagerly. They were large enough that only a few filled her up. She had found a batch of sunlight to bathe in and she let herself grow still. She was warm, full-fed and safe. That's all this little creation ever wanted.
The Forest of Fang and Claw. Jester was in the Earth territory alright. There wasn't much sunlight, with the trees interlocking high over his head. He longed for the Life territory, changed as it was by the quake. He and Fazoola had not been home since then, about a week ago now. For the Life Rider, that was too long a time.
However, as the Elemental of Life, Fazoola had kept herself very busy, dealing with the Earth Elemental, dealing with the revelation of Dragonsdeep, sending out her Ambassador, D, to collect information on the new territory and now, he, Jester, had been sent into the heart of the Earth territory to gather information on what the quake had done there. It seemed that the Earth Elemental had let her anger get the best of even her own territory. There were quite a few fallen trees, creating slashes of light far off in the distance, obscuring trails. The ground itself was rough going, with massive chunks sometimes plunging randomly up into the air. Thankfully, Jester had managed to find ways around them and he had not seen any dead dragons, either.
The sound of rushing water came to Jester's ears. He was coming close to one of the rivers that ran pell-mell through this forest. He soon saw the white water and a large, mossy tree was fallen across either bank, creating a solid bridge, even as the water surged mere inches below. He crossed the tree bridge to the other side and realized that there weren't really any obvious trails. Perhaps he should turn back?
Then the Life Rider recognized that he was in the presence of a creation. He had been with Fazoola for years and he recognized life when he was near it. The life of dragons was distinct from all others. The Elementals, their offspring and their creations also were distinct from one another. So, Jester let his eyes dance about his surroundings, seeking out the dragon.
The stranger was not hostile, Jester felt sure. However, dragons were as varied as people and it took a few moments for him to find the very small creation, basking in a rare patch of sun on a rock slick with moss and spray. Back in the world of people, this creation would have looked like an interesting lizard. Indeed, Jester was surprised by this creation's size. He approached slowly and leaned against the tree where the rock had been wedged between it's roots.
"Hello," Jester said.
"Hello," the creation replied.
"If I may ask, which Element are you?"
"Water."
For a moment, Jester was completely flabbergasted. Olorzxx, the largest and arguably the most dangerous of them all had created this? This creation that could rest comfortably in Jester's hand with only her tail spilling over? Jester could only shake his head in wonder. Perhaps the Water Elemental had a sense of humor that no one knew existed.
"I'm known as Jester. What are you called," Jester said, renewing the conversation.
"Acacia. You're a Rider. For which Element? Not Water, I know," Acacia said.
"For the Life Elemental, Fazoola."
There, the conversation stalled, at least for the moment.
OOC: Long, I know. Its been some time since I've RPed two characters at once, especially introducing them when they don't know each other to begin with. At least it gives you something to work with.
