Full Name: Tamara Lucinda Hart
Nickname: Tam
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Age: 17 or 18- she is not entirely sure. She was three months away from turning seventeen when she joined Tivialous.
Appearance: Tam doesn't cut an overly imposing figure. A short stature of just over 5'2" more than makes up for a toned build: she is one of the shortest Riders out there, and as such is unlikely to intimidate anyone with her mere presence.
Her skin is dark olive verging on sepia, and sports a less than totally even tone on close inspection; although it's unlikely that anyone besides herself, with her inherent vanity, is going to notice. Dark, wavy hair spirals down to her mid back. Her eyes are soft and brown but, when she is angry, people soon forget how warm they once appeared!
Tam looks her age, and doesn't see any reason to try and disguise her youth. None of her features stand out particularly from the others, instead blending softly into one another: though she's far from unattractive, her face could certainly be considered forgettable.
Tam has a few different clothes, showing greater forethought than some of the other Riders. Her favourite by far is her coat. It is a middling shade of tan, with darker trim. Admittedly it is not the most practical of clothing choices, and it offers little in the way of protection from fire or claws or even grazes, but it is sufficient for when she is not doing much work. Unfortunately, as time passes on the island, it is becoming more worn, which sometimes makes Tam a little sad.
When using her bow, she wears a copper-coloured leather bracer; which extends from about mid forearm to her wrist, and then covers part of her hand and half of her index finger. ((needs editing, am using several visual references)).
Personality:
Edited (WIP): Tam is not entirely what one might expect of a Rider of the Light Elemental. While not a compulsive liar as such, she is far from honest, and does on occasion tell small untruths where she perhaps doesn't need to. Lacking her Elemental's patience, she is short tempered and can seem overly irritable at times, though will not typically resort to physical hostility. Adding to all that, she is rather vain, which isn't exactly a useful trait when so far from what humans would call 'civilised' society.
However, Tivialous would never have chosen a Rider without traits he admired. Amongst those who know her, one of Tam's most widely recognised traits is her creativity. You can count on Tam to find creative solutions to many different situations, ranging from the sensible to the downright whimsical. Many people also recognise her bravery, loyalty, and curiosity. Though it should be noted that, while Tam is loyal, this is not blind loyalty. She will stick by Tivialous' side to the end, but she does recognise that he has neglected her as of late, and this is not something she will just let passively slip by.
Reliability is another of her traits. You can trust Tam with your life, even if you can't trust her to be honest when you ask her what she was up to on a given afternoon. If she'd been a Creation, she would have made an excellent Ambassador: she will see her goals through to the bitter end.
Tam is eager to learn, and especially fascinated by the history of the Elemental Dragons, though Tivialous is far from completely open with her in regard to such topics. As a result, Tam knows little of the First War of the Elements (although she is aware that Light and Dark fought together in it, as they always have), and has never heard of the Creation of Many Elements. While Tivialous doesn't mind Tam knowing that he isn't perfect, he doesn't want her to know what a morally reprehensible creature he was such a long time ago. On the other hand, he has explained to her why Creations aren't made out of more than one element, and she does know who Sy was.
Tam hopes to one day see a Light Creation being Created with her own eyes.
Tam has more dragon friends than human ones, but this doesn't seem to bother her in the least.
Dragon: Tivialous {Light}
Weapon: On the day he chose her to be his Rider, Tivialous presented Tamara with a wooden bow and arrows (with metal arrowheads, mind). The bow is adorned with elegant, swirling patterns; but it isn't endowed with any special power. The weapon was a natural choice, given that archery was a hobby of the girl's back in her previous life. She is reasonably skilled, but still finds it difficult to fire from dragon-back, when her mount is in motion.
Other: Some dragons are closer to their Riders than others. Tivialous and Tam are very close, sharing a bond she has not known with any other individual. Sure, they have their falling-outs, but they always manage to reconcile before long. Her Elemental is the only being with whom Tam is [usually] completely honest.
Tam has a younger sister, Angela. Ange is younger by about two years, and their father died shortly before she was born (or left- the whole story seems extremely sketchy and Tam suspects that her father is still alive somewhere). Tam does miss her family at times, though not enough to seriously consider leaving the fantastical world she has found herself in. Besides, she is growing far closer to Tivialous than she ever was to any of them. While she is confident and not afraid to strike up a conversation, Tam is not overly great when it comes to developing bonds with other human beings that extend past a mere acquaintanceship. She finds dragons far easier to bond with, perhaps in part because of the fascination she holds for the creatures- their variety of forms, perspectives, and powers never cease to intrigue her.
Additional Notes: She really likes pizza but there is no pizza on the island. ); Hawaiian is her favourite, as she loves pineapple.
She tried to grow a small garden as a kid and failed miserably. She tried again on the island (with vegetables) and quickly gave up, leaving just a few sad patches of wilting plants where there were once...not-so-wilting plants. She's more of a hunter and a gatherer than a gardener, it produces instant results- she just doesn't have the patience for making things grow.
Not good at being manipulative- maybe if she could turn sad puppy eyes on people they would listen to her, instead she just gets angry.
