The Life Rider stood at the edge of the forest, dark brown eyes scanning the grassland that stretched before him. A herd of horses stood in the middle distance, grazing. He wondered if they knew he was there, and decided that perhaps they did. He pondered on how different life was on the Isle of Dragons. Back in his world, horses had been only for the elite and it was quite something to own a fine horse.
Now look at me, I'm the Rider of a dragon, Jester thought to himself with a smile. The horses here were completely wild and, even if he wanted to, he doubted they would accept the company of a human. Running a hand through his thick brown hair, he decided to head out into the grasslands. He figured that he was far enough from the horses that he wouldn't be disturbing them. The grasslands of the Light territory reminded Jester of the plains that were in Snake's Mouth, the one real difference being the complete absence of horses in the Life territory.
Fazoola had left Jester here on his request, as the Rider wanted to stretch his legs a little. He knew that Fazoola may take the time to visit Tivialous or to just stretch her own wings. Perhaps she would even get into conversation with a creation. Fazzy would really enjoy that. Jester rarely left his dragon's side and it had been years since he had been completely on his own.
I forgot how lonely it can be. Jester had been walking slowly through the gently waving grass, letting his hand thread idly through it as it gently scratched at his outstretched palm. Fazoola will find someone but what about me? Wouldn't it surprise Fazzy if I find someone out here to talk to? He scanned the sky, not really looking for anyone and no one is what he saw, only white clouds scudding across the blue sky.
Jester let out a sigh, taking in deep breaths of the clean air. He supposed he would just have to enjoy this alone time. He began to walk at a slightly faster pace, taking care not the get too close to the horses, not wanting to disturb their peace.
